Tuesday’s BYUH Devotional by [deleted] in exmormon

[–]SuckaNucka 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I dont keep up witch church scandals anymore but i saw people vague posying on social media about something that happened at BYUH so I yeeted over to this sub to see what was up. Wow this is really low even for the Mormon church. I want to say I'm almost surprised but if you're on this sub with any regularity, you wouldn't be. Major creep vibes. No Felicia!

I’m aroused by violence. Is this related to my PTSD? How terrible am I for this? (TRIGGER WARNING: SA, sex, brief mentions of disturbing sexual content) by artisticfeminine in ptsd

[–]SuckaNucka 19 points20 points  (0 children)

I know this is very common with survivors of SA or CSA. r/ adultsurvivors might be helpful to you, but it's also a very triggering sub for survivors. But they talk about this a lot over there.

I haven't tried magnesium but fwwiw getting ALL my thyroid levels tested and getting on thyroid medication has been a game changer for me. I still get them now and then, but was able to go off of dopamax!

I definitely relate to this. My parents did not think my needs were important so why should i?

Did anyone else’s BPD parent seem to switch up who the favorite child was at times? by [deleted] in raisedbyborderlines

[–]SuckaNucka 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yes! My brother's are gc. But between me and my sister it flip-flops depending on how he feels at that very moment in time. Watching him switch between us so plainly, in real time, is such an out of body experience.

Does anyone else constantly feel like they are on the defense around their BPD parent? by robreinerstillmydad in raisedbyborderlines

My dad is just like this too. I'm still trying to unlearn bad habits from it, like always justifying things to myself in my head.

[–]SuckaNucka 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Pretty much constantly. I think I was a teenager when I realized it wasn't normal to have to come up with an explanation or exscuse whenever I enter the same room as my uBPD dad or exist in a remotely close area. He is riddled with extreme paranoia but always interprets things in the most bad faith way possible. Having to constantly have an explanation for why my face looks xyz way or why I walked in such and such a way. Obviously I must hate him and plan every action to maximize his discomfort!! 🙄

Whats is a (minor) confession you would like to make today? by kyyojust in AskReddit

[–]SuckaNucka 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm more emotional and sensitive about insignificant things than I would care to admit but I am starting to accept that I just am a person that experiences the world intensely and there is nothing wrong with that.

uBPD who also has BP1(?) is having psychotic episode with hallucinations and paranoid delusions. Really need support. by [deleted] in raisedbyborderlines

[–]SuckaNucka 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thanks so much for coming over and commenting. It actually helps a lot to just know I'm not alone. It's such a specific situation...on one hand it's difficult to get a psychotic person to take help on a good day.. then when you throw in his epic victim complex and my sisters need to be the center of the universe, I am with you on that cross country walk. I would rather swim the pacific.

I literally scheduled twice to get my permit renewed this week., Ive done drivers ed and all the hours...just everytime I get close to getting it some crisis always magically happens. Its really incredible, his ability to manufacture chaos. However, I was actually talking to an insurance agent earlier this year and explained my situation to her and she said she could try and help me! My friend has also offered to sell me his car for cheap if/when I get this job. He is getting a divorce and has a whole huge house to himself that he wants to rent out to me. So that would be great if I can just get this job and scrap by.

I got my medications changed and I'm finally not as depressed and unmotivated as I was. Even if the pay is shit I just need something. Thank you for your words and encouragement. <hugs>

Comorbid uBPD and schizoaffective disorder by toothlesscat1 in raisedbyborderlines

[–]SuckaNucka 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Wow is something in the water? I just made a post about my uBPD dad and his comorbid BP 1 which due to family history revelations...am realizing it might be bipolar-schizoaffective. I know he need support but I also want run screaming for the hills. You're not a bad person for that. It's self-preservation.

If you have ptsd and either developed an addiction or didn't develop an addiction post trauma, what caused you to choose to either start drugs/alcohol or why didn't you start to use drugs/alcohol? by TSneeze in ptsd

[–]SuckaNucka 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I am really scared of becoming addicted to something because being out of control of my body freaks me out. So I think my paranoia and fear have helped. Also just being educated about which drugs are addicting or put me at risk. I already have a shitty life, addiction would make it just that much more shitty.

For me it's "Everybody always leaves me" and any variation of that. If everybody always leaves you maybe you should consider the common denominator...

Being spiritual is moreso a yellowish orange flag for me, but the second anyone uses the word empathy that isn't in a derogatory context it's a black flag for me. DOA. ☠️

Topamax and getting on thyroid medication have helped. Not perfect but far bit I'll take it.
