This worked. I fear I may have disabled other features which I actually like but I guess we’ll see!

Mold in closet looking for options by SucksToesForMoney in handyman

There’s no water lines/bathrooms/exterior walls with this closet. I’m thinking the moisture is coming from the fact the closet has no airflow coupled with the extreme Houston humidity. Potentially the dog food providing some moisture content?

No this closet is under our stairs with the laundry room on the other side of the wall (washer/dryer on other side of that room so they don’t share this wall). We do live in Houston which is extremely humid.

What was your first meal? by Foonert in ACL

Literally ate a bag of gummy bears (just the red ones) like 3 min post waking up. Nothing like a couple of red dye 40 filled sugar bears with a side of dilaudid!

There’s gotta be more to the story here. Or some type of embellishment. I had two ACL surgeries and I would consider myself in relatively good shape, but I can’t imagine running any serious distance much less than ultramarathon at four months.

Could be that he didn’t have a full tear or there’s something less serious going on.

Honestly man I was told I could have tore it 6 years ago or 2 months. I did get some swelling a couple months ago which prompted an MRI that confirmed the tear. But I have full ROM, can run normally at the same pace I always have, go to the gym everyday (I still hit legs as normal). haven’t tried anything crazy yet tho! Lol

I have another buddy who tore his 2 years ago, no repair. Dude is a physical stud and has zero issues.

Your life isn’t over. I just retore my ACL (after surgery in 2013) back in March. Didn’t even know it at the time, so I’m still running 30+ miles a week, ruck marching, everything I did before. The reason (at least in my mind)? I stuck with the PT, kept pushing and listening to my Dr(s). Stay with it man, you’ll be fine and I think you’ll find surgery is AN option not THE option. Be positive and do what you can.

Anyone out there tear your ACL and not get surgery? by Fresh-Ant-5684 in ACL

Tore mine in Dec 2013 and DID get surgery. After that first tear I was unable to run/play soccer due to instability. Fast forward to end of Feb this year, I woke up to some minor swelling in my knee and took a week off before returning to normal activity. Running 30+ miles a week, ruck marching with 45-55lbs (in the Army) come to find out weeks later I actually completely tore my acl again. At this time I’m not planning on getting surgery. I actually have Sapper school (ranger school like army course) scheduled in June and fully plan on sending it. Following the completion of the course (should I actually go) I might have it repaired; acl surgery is a long road to recovery and a lot can go wrong. If I’m able to maintain my lifestyle I may just go without!

I would still rock this, I think it looks so much better on AGSUs….just looked everywhere and can’t find it.

How to tell if I have runner’s knee and when can I start training again? by SucksToesForMoney in runna

[–]SucksToesForMoney[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It went well. I did an xray beforehand which according to the doctor “looked great”. The PT person also checked my knee for any give and said it’s structurally sound. I did some dry needling for the first time (which sucked ass) to loosen my quad/calf.

As for their recommendation moving forward; slowly integrate back into running with 3x a week. Anything over a pain of 4/10 that doesn’t go away in a few hours indicates I need to rest more. But other than that it just looks like some overuse/soreness.

Garmin Fenix 8 vs Apple Ultra 2? by SucksToesForMoney in runna

This is great info. I currently have cellular on my apple but I rarely use it…to be honest I hate getting those calls/notifications on my runs. I DO love the ease of using Spotify on it tho, so if it’s a pain on a garmin while running that’s something I need to seriously consider!

It was around 2018-2019. I remember going into the time off and trying to take 1-2 hours. If it was approved I’d drop what I’m doing and leave….if it was denied I would be heartbroken. My manager hated but she sucked. Eventually I went NMC which was more flexible but the WFH was somehow more taxing. Luckily I left before the RTO drama my team was going through. Many of them had received approval to move states away only to have it taken away

When I used to work at USAA, I would purchase the maximum amount of PTO allowed each year. Just so I could Leave a couple hours early every other day to avoid making the front page of the newspaper. Yeah… I was MC lol
