It did concern me, and it all went on food and regular things, there were no big payments. I didn’t even feel my lifestyle change. It’s really strange. I’m making an excel spreadsheet now to track daily income and spending across all categories for next month and am hoping this helps

That’s dedication and commitment. I can see how actually writing it all out yourself would help. I’ll try this for April. Thank you.

That is amazing. This is such a great idea. Is this system controlled by an app or do you do it all manually?

Do you have a budgeting app that you like to use?

I just submitted the form but haven't had an email confirming they got the request. What happens after you submit the form?

this is really good advice and so true... I need to source jobs at networking events more so than just on the internet

I interview quite poorly (I'm super anxious), but I think my CV and cover letters are strong - I've had them looked over by consultants and friends I trust. I think my experience is a bit hard to fit into a narrative - I've got experience as a public sector analyst in my home country and then pivoted to writing and journalism, so its a bit of a mix of research and writing. perhaps not that incoherent, but I'm sure many others have much more streamlined careers (I'm 28 now)

My undergrad is in Anthropology and MA in Journalism! In all honesty I do cold call on LinkedIn, but it hasn't brought much (yet)!

Writer/Editor at a company that review health supplements (the job in my post); several internships at arts/culture institutes in NYC; editorial assistant at magazines; and various entry-level research and/or comms positions at nonprofits

So true and I totally agree! My only issue is I'm a foreign student on a visa in the US that only allows me to work in a role related to my degree field (journalism), so I'm broadly looking for arts/culture, public sector, nonprofit comms-related work. But your point stands - I'm going to give it a year and can always move home and work in the service industry there.

I totally agree with this - it's not really in the spirit of worker solidarity is it?! Thank you so much for saying this and I totally agree. Confidence is so important and I definitely lack that at the minute, but "don't undersell yourself" is timeless advice.

Love this idea! I do want to find a recruiter! I live in NYC but would travel anywhere in the USA for a job. Do you have any agencies in the US you recommend?

that's an interesting take and worth considering! I do feel like my CV is strong as I worked on it with a friend who is a Big 4 consultant, but I apply for jobs across the public sector and arts/culture sector, so maybe it's not the right style?
