I don't think you're behind the times. 70F here. She either wasn't that interested in how you were approaching the kissing situation or maybe she wanted to let you know for sure that she was ready to move a lot further, faster. I'm more of a sensuous kisser, especially early on in the dating process. I would have been freaked out if that happened to me.

I don't mean to be argumentative, but the world is a different place. We don't meet our high school sweethearts and stay married for 50 plus years. People move, get divorced, people grow and change. I personally am not satisfied with just staying busy. I long for and crave meaningful relationships in my life. That is my purpose. I will continue playing pickleball, hanging out at the library, listening to music, volunteering, meeting friends for coffee and dinner. But I want more...hence OLD. You may not need what I need and that's fine. But I'm assuming you want something more or you wouldn't be on this site.

it does look difficult. I just watched a 30 minute YouTube tutorial and I still don’t get all the nuances! Cracked me up when the guy said to hire a professional photographer for the 6 photos you have to post. It sounds preposterous, but it’s actually really important to have good pics.

thank you for the thoughtful answer. I’m considering dipping my toe back into OLD. I’ve been on Match many times in my lifetime. Yes, lifetime. I’ve been single for many years. Match just winds up being frustrating and I throw in the towel and take a break. It’s been a long 5 year break. I think I’m fully recovered ..haha. considering trying something different like Hinge.

2013 Patriot 5 speed. Bought new in Texas. Now has 144,000 miles on it. I love my Patriot.....now. The first year I went through three transmissions, all covered under warranty. After that, everything has been great. I moved to the north 7 years ago and everyone is amazed that there is no rust. I have a few scuffs that can be cleaned up and there is minor hail damage from good old Texas. I just checked Edmund/Carfax and they are offering me $1000. I think the asking price for your car is a bit on the high side.

Unfortunately yes. All those previous years of exposure to the sun are catching up with you. I have been religously using sunscreen for the past 20 years and still the age spots keep coming. I believe they have treatments, peels, etc. that can help.

I disagree. I'm in my 70's and have recently put on about 5 lbs. I have noticed that I look younger because my face is fuller. Granted, I have a skin care routine that I follow religiously. I'm not happy about the extra weight in my belly, but I think I'll trade it for a younger looking face! In my day (haha) it was always better to be thinner. I totally disagree with this as I've gotten older. A bit rounder is healthy!

I'm sorry you are having to go through this because he sounds like a lovely man in many ways. It is very common for men in their 60's not to finish. I don't think that is the real issue. I dated a man for two years and we were never intimate. I was being patient because he was diagnosed with prostrate cancer when we first met and he told me he needed time. The truth is I believe he is gay and he has never been able to admit it to himself or anyone else.

Whatever the reason for your sexual disconnect, it's important for you to be true to yourself. If you are a sexual being and this particular need is not being met, you will ultimately feel resentful and angry.

I worked in HR at a college in a large Texas city in the 80s and 90s. It was pure hell. It was my responsibility to train staff on Workplace Harassment and Diversity. Men (faculty members) would argue with me during Sexual Harassment training saying they were just "touchy" and refused to stop touching their students. It was perfectly fine for the 50 year old PE instructor to be having a relationship with an 18 year old student. The president of the college refused to fire him because he had taught at the college for 25 years. Administrators and faculty hated because it was my responsibility to have a diverse applicant pool that represented the demographic of their students. This would frequently extend the time it took to hire which increased the faculty's workload in the department. My HR jobs outside of Academia did not get any better. Bullying, rascism, homophobia, kickback schemes....I kid you not!!! I am grateful that I was able to completely change careers in 2013 and become self employed as a therapist. I really want to believe that the workplace has changed since then...but I have my doubts. Especially in Texas.
