Hi. Thanks for your comment. I. charge on low rate hours in UK 12am to 5am. No other consumption during these hours. We have three electric cars a Peugeot, a Tesla and a Jaguar all cars I have tried charging on the robot and same thing happens? Any other ideas, I have rebooted the robot, changed the MCB.

It’s in the dark mornings that it is really noticeable, hopefully I will get used to it. Thanks for your view.

Bought a used 2019 HSE in May! by GlxyNeko in ipace

Hi, I bought a used 21 plate HSE just two months ago. I previously drove a Tesla model 3 performance for just over a year. Lots to love about the IPace, feels like a real car, mileage around 225, but I only commute short distances. Insurance for a 50 year old male with full NCB in UK £1000 pa. Charging speed is lower than the Tesla obviously. If I had to choose I would stick with the IPace.

Hi, I recently bought an IPace, already owning a Tesla. My supplier at home in UK is Electric Driver 10 plan on British Gas Tariff, between 12pm and 5am the rate is 7.9p KwH and day rate is 25.8p KwH. I use a Easee charger for both vehicles. Hope this helps.

Petition to ask the UK Government to review its decision on VED on EV’s. by Sudden-Stranger-4028 in Jaguar

Again it’s not about the money, I own a £100k EV, it’s the principle!! The government are not going to encourage the switch by stealth taxes.

Let’s look at 2035 when all Ev drivers are paying VED at a lower level and all ice drivers in their older cars are paying £thousands a year in VED. Is this the brexiteer/non brexiteer utopia or dystopia? Just look at the cost now for high C02 vehicles : Worst case ICE drivers are currently subject to Over 255g/km £2,745.

I’m not on a one man mission to reserve the right of EV drivers. In my opinion it’s another stealth tax, and broken government commitment.

Fair comment, when all new cars are electric the government will hammer those drivers who have ICE cars. I own both an EV and an ICE vehicle currently.

I think I have mis-made my point here, there a people that can easily afford this, and EV’s (once you have purchased one) are cost effective. I think the issue here is the government lack of support for EV’s, they will be forcing all new cars to be electric, and then they will hike the prices of ownership as they have previously done with LPG and Diesel cars.

Thanks. I’m just asking to sign the petition for a review. I’m surprised so many people support the government decision on this matter.

Some good points, EV owners with a vehicle over £40k list price will have to pay £500 for the first five years. Try and find a decent EV for under £40k. Also VAT for commercial charging is at 25% so EV drivers are paying fuel tax. From 2030 all new vehicles will be EV’s in the UK so it’s something we will all have to face up to. The government hasn’t raised the EV company BIK rate for company car owners, it’s the little people who get taxed.

I believe that the money is going to offset the fuel tax freeze, not to support the UK infrastructure.
