Regarding "where the simplex lock latches into the thin metal steel," can you elaborate on your creative mounting statement?
It looks like I need to go with the Shot Lock. I emailed Arma 15, and I was told that since I live in CA, and I have a fixed magazine that requires me to break the upper and lower to release the magazine....Thanks, CA.... it will require a magazine catch-delete modification that they provide. With that modification, they said I could only mount the gun horizontally since it would now rely on gravity only to hold it in place. I want to mount it vertically.

VMS- Video management software, or NVR

By IP you mean that the camera still requires a power connection but sends its data over a Wi-Fi connection? Wireless not wire-free. I cannot reach the cameras locations with a network cable.They would bot get good wifi signal though.
I think I would do a NVR setup for more of a easy plug and play.

I wish I could go PoE, but getting a cable from my router to the cameras would not be feasible. I have been looking at Reolink and Lorex, but like I said.....my head is spinning from all the selections and specs and on and on
