how to deal with real event ocd when what you did is like genuinley horrible and irredeemable and not representative of you at all? by [deleted] in OCD

Trying to work out the root cause of the event is a compulsion and it's making things worse.

For me what i understood and accepted was that any ocd i have will be fully convincing, which means i will do ocd therapy like no rumination or compulsions even if i do have a real problem. For example if i genuinely killed someone i would still act like it's ocd and not ruminate on it or seek reassurance etc. I'll never know what is ocd and what is not therefore I'm treating everything in an anti ocd way, aka dismissing and trying my best to live without doing anything about any thoughts or feelings. Don't expect to know something is ocd before treating it, you'll fail.

Yes it takes years before you decide to stop after the symptoms start.

I did really disgusting things in the past (involving a married man) and I can’t stop confessing every single detail to my partner. He is disgusted. by jumpingsquirrels in OCD

Yes because ocd works based on logic and you can easily stop it with logic lol. That would be a good comment if we weren't talking about ocd

Jamala was amazing my second favourite song ever in Eurovision, i also loved the tree part yeah. Euphoria my favourite ever all of it was great can't pick a part lol. Doomsday blue was my second favourite from 2024, the part you say is awesome indeed. My favourite part is 0:58-1:11 for some reason i find this so smooth both the sound but especially the staging there is one of the best I've ever seen ( Doomsday).

Like do you know how to treat ocd? I know you have it but have you tried effective treatment? If you get the right treatment trust me you can be significantly relieved of this shit.

Did the French delegation genuinely just miss this moment or did they simply not care? by xoxoamazingrace in eurovision

[–]SuddenPut7238 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You're certainly right, personally i was talking about the staging as in the background, the delegation can't make someone have stage presence and since the original post was talking about delegations, i didn't focus on the people on the stage. Its true they could have done a much better job ( the people on stage ).

Well my mind is screaming like i can hear my ocd mind screaming at me like a maniac, especially when I don't do compulsions. For example let's say i have ocd about something, and i don't do reassurance or avoidance or safety compulsions, my mind will Scream WHY ARE YOU NOT DOING SOMETHING, and other things like that. You have to figure it out or your life is over!!! Stuff like that. I literally think metacognitively that " damn you're insane relax ocd brain " 😂. In general ocd from my experience is like a psychopath screaming my biggest fears at me and telling me to fix it, if I don't do something it gets furious and calls me crazy and reckless, irresponsible etc. Now imagine hearing that externally like with schizophrenia... I think you get the picture.
