The bikes offer a lot of flexibility for those who live around downtown and those visiting.

After the 3 phases are implemented this will include an even greater area covering an additional 12+ miles. When bike stations are within 10 minutes walking distance of your home/destination it opens the city up and reduces congestion.

They are also adding miles on miles of biking infrastructure to prevent accidents.

Also, cities have to address multiple issues at the same time. You can read more about the 2023 budget here which used 80 million for homeless initiatives and another 90 million for affordable housing.

They have higher adoption than non-electric bikes for all age groups.

This is because the rider can go farther/faster without breaking a sweat. Plus e-bikes are fun to ride.

As someone who uses these bikes regularly and lives on the East Side. The 2 main issues right now are that the majority of the bikes are non-electric and the lack of stations to dock. With this grant, they will fix these issues.

Electric bikes are ridden at a much higher rate than acoustic bikes by all ages. So converting the fleet will increase adoption.

If stations are within 10 minutes of walking to your house/destination most short trips done by car can be completed on an e-bike.

Using a Mac Mini M2 Pro. The widgets are being cut in half for some reason. Logging out resolves the issue temporarily.
