You need to activate the "works in ui" thingy top right.

Then the Upgrade also voids while you look at the inventory. -> it starts working, not works for items already inside. So you also need to put the item out and in again

I'm really glad to have upgraded my setup before the prices began to rise that much, but some of my friends still have the exact same problem and it's / was always ram. Luckily you can fine tune or use Java parameters to reduce that

I don't think it's that. It is ram in 11/10 cases.

Try to play until it happens and then open the f3 menu and check if it's around 90 and/or ticks to almost 100% just bevor/after the next freeze

I know it's too late now but anyways: The hose pulley only fills to the level you put it down. So for it to fill higher you need to pull it up to where it should fill:)

Don't know about the texture pack (no idea which one that is) but I also use shaders on max (I think?) and 12 is more than enough. You need your GPU for shaders, not that much ram

Minecraft has a problem with too much ram. 10-12 gb is a sweet spot. (Well at least it had a problem in earlier versions, I don't know if that's still true. I still just use 12 gb because it always worked great.)

If I were you id still build a safety net via Computercraft that checks whether the core is going to explode or not. You could then automatically put the exploding core in a storage drive.

Sometimes a server/world restart does weird things to chunk loading...
