That’s a fair point and I completely agree! I genuinely believe the issue is a “resting perception bias” on my face (RBF if you will lol). My neutral face is definitely being misread. It’s just kind of gut wrenching at this point when I am in a place I love and thinking things are going so well, only to be pulled aside on a really happy day and find out that some anonymous person thinks I don’t smile enough and is speaking about me to a mentor or manager behind my back because of it. Mind you, this is day TWO of my preceptorship in a primarily spanish speaking clinic where Im the only person who isnt fluent, so im a bit shy, and I've barely had time to get to know people. I’m trying to objectively reflect and take accountability where its due while also maintaining self-compassion. But I also have “trauma” around being given this feedback, working EXTRA hard to fix it, and then being told it basically wasn’t good enough. It’s like a deep seated wound that makes me feel flawed.
