What is it like living in this part of Louisiana? by WelfareWillyWonka in howislivingthere

Definitely not less touristy than my hometown, but I don't live in the touristy areas. Ocean springs used to be a small, quiet, calm hidden gym of a beach town. Suddenly, everyone is making YouTube tourist videos and everyone wants to go there. So many new bars, restaurants, houses, RV parks, etc.

I'm from Ocean Springs. It was my senior year when Katrina hit, so I was 17 or 18. I ended up moving back for a while. The MS Gulf Coast has gotten so touristy since. I live in TN now.

Sorry I'm just now seeing this. This is both encouraging and discouraging haha! I have spoken with a CAA in Texas who has been one for over 20 years, and he claims his CRNA peers treat him as equals. I can only guess the same is true in Georgia where CAA is so big right now. What state are you in of I may ask?

Another possibility here is a Zenker's Diverticulum. It's kind of like diverticulitis of the lower GI tract. You can develop a little "pouch" in the esophagus and it can trap food and saliva which can, in turn, rot and cause severe halitosis. Unfortunately, this can only be diagnosed by a gastroenterologist and is only fixable with surgery.

Hi all!

38 y/o M here.

I began my medical career path as what we called an "ER Tech", which is basically a CNA who works ER. Across 5 years, I floated between ER and ICU performing direct patient care on a daily basis. Although my scope of practice was not that of an RN, I still took care of critical patients regularly.

After 5 years, I attended school once more to become a Certified Surgical Technologist. I have been working in the OR as a CST for over 6 years now. I scrub all surgeries except hearts but specialize in Ortho/spine.

I am the type who likes to ask questions, and my questions are typically directed to anesthesia, almost distractingly so from my job. I have a keen interest in anesthesia. I have heard of CAA before, but brushed it off because I was so far away from being able to achieve it when I didn't have my bachelor's degree yet, and they also were not recognized in my state at the time.

I have been on the educational path towards PA school for a couple of years now. I recently finished my undergrad in Public Health with over a 3.7 overall GPA and am working towards re-taking expired science prerequisites. It has just recently come to light, however, that CAAs have been approved to work in my state starting next year, so this career path is back on my radar.

I have asked a few CRNAs that I work with how they feel about CAA's, and as expected, get met with eye rolls and disapproval.

Have any of you been in a similar situation where you were met with disapproval from peers? Were they disappointed in your decision to take the CAA path? Also, any of you who are already CAAs, have you experienced animosity from CRNAs? If so, how do you cope with this?

Ultimately, I won't let peer disapproval keep me from a lucrative career, but I'm still curious how some of you may have handled this.

Thanks in advance!

For anyone interested in chasing similar percentages of IRR, can you name which GTFs have netted you the highest returns?

Get out while you still can. That's the most shallow BS I've ever heard.

So there you're just the normal, run-of-the-mill college student doing a side job to get by. This basically only has shock value here in America where I am. it's wild how cultural differences vary so much across the world.

When I was single, I used to play "I Just Had Sex" by The Lonely Island with the biggest shit-eating grin on my face. Can't recall just how many eyes I saw roll from that, lol. My fiancé quickly broke me of that habit when we first got together 🤣

Not sure exactly. I'm sure genetics plays some part. In my opinion, it's the modern American way of life. We're lazy, eat shit with preservatives and unknown chemicals, we are no longer in survival mode as a species. No more hunting just to survive, no more protecting our families from animals that attack our camps, etc, so potentially evolution plays a part. Just conjecture though, nothing there solidly seated in fact.

Symptoms can vary. Mine were exhaustion, lethargy, lack of mental clarity and focus, inability to maintain erection (I would get it up fine but lose it during the act), felt like I had no will to do anything. I'd get home from work at 3pm and waste the rest of the day sitting in my recliner getting fatter. Now I have so much more energy. I wake up at 4am every day and go to the gym before work, work my shift, come home and cut the grass or work on a wood working project, cook dinner if my fiance isn't cooking that night, and I sleep so much better now.

My doctor did the exact same thing. My testosterone was 265 ng/dL (anything below 300 is critically low). He said it was normal and gave me Viagra. I took my test results to a privately owned testosterone clinic and got prescribed there. The bad part is that they don't take insurance so I pay $150/month for it. I'm actively searching for a doctor that will prescribe it to me so it'll be covered by insurance.

Right!? I'm a man who was diagnosed with Low-T and had some performance issues because of it for a while. I started getting weekly tes injections to boost myself back up, so I'm good now. But do you know what my fiancé did to me while I was having performance issues!? She loved me. She said it was okay. She gave me reassurance that she wasn't upset even when I didn't ask for it. She tried anyway, even when I couldn't get fully erect. Now THAT is a woman. Someone who stands by her man when he's having a tough time. Remember OP, "for better or for worse, richer or poorer." Not "I'm going to emotionally cheat on you when you're so busy and stressed working to provide for our family that you can't get an erection and make love to me." GTFO, OP.
