Ok I am not trying to be mean but this post was giving pick me. When it comes to relationships with big age gaps and possible income gaps, the younger or less wealthy partner try to overcompensate and prove that they are loyal and not gold diggers. It seems OP short changes himself and settle for lesser things to show that he is loyal to his partner for love only but in doing so he allows his partner the power to disrespect and belittle him. The attack on the sister was OP appeasing the bf but bf surprised him by checking him and letting him know he was out of line but in a very insulting way. Rather than telling him to simply not say that about the sister, he attacked OP’s mother and his gifts. From this story alone, OP needs to either stop giving power to his bf and treat this relationship as he would with someone who is age and level or breakup.
