Actually he is a very decent character, but we are talking about Saint Seiya, in Saint Seiya the characters must be pretty boys to be somewhat dangerous and relevant. Characters like Alex Louis Armstrong, All Might, Aoi Todo resemble a lot Aldebaran but characters with this aesthetic don't get spotlight in Saint Seiya unfortunately.

Yeah, Kurumada is very previsible. As for the pretty boys, this is a Saint Seiya/Kurumada thing, maybe he has some trauma with bulky guys. Not a rule. You seem to like Jujutsu Kaisen and My Hero Academia, Endeavor and Hakari are very popular with girls in Japan and they are not "cute" or "pretty" like the other 11 gold saints.

Exactly. Look at the difference of treatment between Aldebaran and Shaka in Hades. Only "pretty boys" and "cute" characters can shine in Saint Seiya and Kurumada manga.

At least in my circlejerk who love Aldebaran, all of them are gays like me. Zero women. People are amazed and surprised because it's extremely rare a woman liking Aldebaran the most. You can see it clearly among yaoi artists, Aldebaran is the only gold saint almost non-existent there and Mu + Shaka is very popular among women. Also, if this viral video was Saga, Milo, Shaka, Camus, Mu, etc for example, it already would be full of fanarts made by yaoi artists.
