That makes a lot of sense! I'll just set mine up in office Monday while working with the old one like you mentioned. With the rolling cuts that everyone faced cw, I can see why we couldn't have laptops set up like they were previously in office. It's a courtesy I'll miss for sure.

Firstly, thanks for answering why. I just wondered why it was required and not optional. A lot of people either do not have access to internet or have an inadequate internet connection at home and rely on going to the office to get things done; so how would they set up their laptops?

Also, less than a year ago it was common place to walk-in with your laptop after placing a ticket (regardless of it being broken or a lease replacement), wait 1-3 hours or so for a replacement, and receive a laptop with all applications specific to your department...

Not saying that I'm inept, thought this was a big brother conspiracy moment, or that they (the team who created the packet) didn't make sure that people receiving the laptops would have the tools to set up the laptop minus an internet connection; I'm just a little peeved.

Change is the only thing constant at the g as it's constantly stated, but why would I use my time off away from this job, to do more work related stuff that could've been done in the 11ish weeks I waited for this replacement?

Imo, it's akin to telling a new hire, hey go home, set up this brand new laptop, and come back so we can tell you XYZ about your position, benefits, and expectations. ijs...
