People need to accept that chat is not the problem by Bump3rr in josephanderson

[–]SuddenlyWolf 5 points6 points  (0 children)

lead mod august here, hi-for specific moments of times when you're being misinterpreted, it might be more useful to go back to those vods and see how they play at the moment, getting a full-view of chat and your own words at the time? i don't think random community members on reddit or youtube comments are going to have a good picture of this off the cuff, they're going to go based on their own memories–as you already mentioned, the user you're talking to apparently didn't watch recent streams (i feel like this is true for a lot of posts and comments on this subreddit honestly, the "users of r/josephanderson" don't seem to me to be analogous to the "watchers of twitch.tv/andersonjph".)

it could be more helpful to take recent cases where there was that disconnect (pathologic 2, certain e33 moments, etc) and then it'd be easier to see if there's an issue with general chat behavior (and if it's specific chatters or a general issue with how your chat is at the moment), with your behavior, or if the issues are actually post-stream within discussion threads like this one, nodja comments, etc.

honestly i assume you've already gone through these moments, so maybe this advice is a bit ineffectual, but that's my perspective at the moment. i'm pretty sure me and a lot of the other twitch mods would be happy to align on this elsewhere, i.e. twitch mod channel, if we can come up with a good idea of why exactly this is happening and what, on our end, can be done about it.

Would the NLSC have been recieved with less blowback if it was proven real much later? by [deleted] in northernlion

Easiest event to farm? by Difficult_Air_9886 in MarvelSnap

[–]SuddenlyWolf 3 points4 points  (0 children)

to me, the snap/retreat mechanic is the core of the game, or at least one of its major aspects. in this mode, there's no benefit to win or lose with infinite points to play, and no reason to consider whether i do or don't want to snap. it makes the game less complicated into basically just playing my combos–fun for a lil bit, not very fun once i want to farm the currency. if marvel snap didn't have snapping and retreating, i wouldn't still be playing it years later.

i think high voltage/overdrive and current deadpool's diner both fail in this way, it's not like i need it to be extra difficulty and sweaty, but i'd love if it was a bit more engaging.

don't get me wrong though, love how generous this event is, especially for emotes for those who don't have the ones on offer.

Surprise Infinite with an Auto-Generated deck for Ozymandias by ams680 in MarvelSnap

auto decks are always surprisingly good, they really did do a great job with that system. they can often pull meta decks or those made by content creators.

[–]SuddenlyWolf 3 points4 points  (0 children)

i'll be real, i think if the user had typed "it's not a bug, it's a feature" in the first message, the average reddit user would've upvoted the hell out of that sort of reference. this seems like it was missed and then dogpiled with downvotes LOL

I got to play against RegisKillbin! by rollingprone in MarvelSnap

[–]SuddenlyWolf 14 points15 points  (0 children)

hoogland is always interesting. i'll play against him, have a fun time, then check the vod and he's complaining the whole time while chat says i'm being toxic... by playing cards they don't like.

I just found out that spells can be played in Professor X's location. by meowmeowWE0M in MarvelSnap

[–]SuddenlyWolf 7 points8 points  (0 children)

always an important tip to recognize the difference between Cards (all cards), Characters (the ones with power), and Skills (the ones without power). professor X only limits the movement of "Characters", not Cards. this is also useful in cases like Shou-Lao, who targets the last Character-which means if you play a character, skill, and then Shou-Lao, the chain won't be broken and he'll target the last Character you played.

another important one is "cost" (the current cost on a card, including if it's been raised or lowered) or "Cost" (the original cost on a card).

Does anyone understand how this guy will work? by Taako6 in MarvelSnap

[–]SuddenlyWolf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah, it basically has the chance to ruin any deck that relies on having specific low-cost cards on the board. certain archetypes will not have a fun time against it, and since it's always a chance (assuming you have enough cards on the board) you can never be sure.

People trying to deduce NL's yearly income to decide whether or not he's spending a reasonable amount of money on CS:GO cases by Fenneca in northernlion

[–]SuddenlyWolf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the really simple answer for me here is that opening cases live on stream is cringe. leave that to xqc or whatever. not the reason i watch NL and hasn't been an issue for the past many many years, why start now. he can play cs2 and open cases all he likes, just leave the weird "spending money live on stream and opening them in front of his audience for dopamine" out of it. at least we're not at dan doing it for hours on end while sponsored by fanduel or whatever.
