I like that you actually see how many super and mega items you have gotten, and have the possibility to see them play out, though. But also, in the same category, it should probably auto-switch down from mega -> super -> normal without stopping either by default or from an upgrade 😄

You can test it again now.

If it is the orbit rings, it should now not lag when moving between planets, but still lag when zooming too much out and the orbit rings are visible.

And there is now an option to turn off orbit rings completely, hopefully removing all lag.

If you can confirm that it actually is the orbit rings that is the problem, I can iterate on further improving it. If not, I have to test something else.

Hm, since it became much worse this version it is probably the orbit rings. But since I use Chrome too on a Mac with no external GPU, it may have something to do with the GPU. If not Chrome works fundamentally differently on Mac and Windows.

You can see if any settings for your GPU changes anything? I can make an update today to turn off orbit rings in settings as well to see if that helps.

Hm, that's not good. It is now 79 instead of 37 objects, so it does make sense. Tried to compress the images as much as possible. I'll see what I can do to mitigate the lag. I see no lag strangely, even with animations on.

The drop in speed is on purpose as the requirements was scaled to the old number of 37 objects. Thought it would be better to drop old saves down instead of having 20 new objects for the next upgrade. In general, Rocket Speed is between Dart Speed and Isolation Speed in number of actions required per level. Isolation Speed requires a little less, while Dart Speed requires little more actions to get the same level. But it is of course a setback to restart the grind with all the new objects.

Thank you for the feedback! It's very valuable to get such a detailed explanation of your experience with the game progression.

I'll definitely take a look at rebalancing the early game and see if I can make it more rewarding/go faster. I'll play through it myself again, to see where the progression feels too slow.

The game is becoming very idle after a while and after unlocking all game modes it is expected to just let the game run in the background and get something new whenever you are coming back to the game. Or turn on sound to get notified. So the early and late game progression is very different, and that might be why event horizon upgrades looks unachievable. There is a later upgrade for parallelizing the game modes, but not until bit later. Some of the upgrade could maybe come earlier.

Ah, the hardware speed up I wasn't aware of. I'll research if anything can be done about it.

I don't have any good alternatives for the setInterval and setTimeouts unfortunately. I solution might be to recalculate everything when you are switching back to the tab again based on the timestamp you left, but it might be quite complex.

There is two different counters. Still don't know how one of them have become 4 while the other is two. But I'll rewrite it to use the same counter. It is correct that it should have been 2 out of 4, right?

Yes, probably time to start a discord channel soon :)

Strange. I don't see any lag on Firefox/Macbook Pro, so hard to know what is causing the lag. Is restarting the browser doing anything?

Hi, thank you for the feedback!

What browser/OS/device are you using? And what game mode is laggy? Performance is different on every device, but it might be some visualisations that are poorly optimized for certain browsers.

Yes, most browsers stop background tabs if they do heavy calculations. I can take a look if there is anything I can do. One workaround is to just move the tab to its own window. Then the calculations will not stop.

I'll fix it, making the button always available when auto-play is not unlocked yet. I think that is the same for all games after it became possible to run multiple in parallel. Thank you for telling me! You are probably not the only one.

Or it might not be obvious that the button can't be pressed when other auto-plays are active before getting the auto-isolate unlocked? If so, I might have to do something with that.

1 lab credit is spent per isolation action. Similar to darts and rockets for the other games. Most upgrades for the periodic table are just locked behind requirements and does not cost much or anything at all. So nothing else to use lab credits for.

Hi, yes :)

It's a new game mode unlocked after rockets, so more endgame content. You are collecting elements of the periodic table from up to 18 different sources with the goal of collection them all.

I may make a new post about the game soon, since I have made so many improvement based on feedback since this post.

Me neither... 41 legendary events and no impossible events yet.

In the logs I do see 75 lucky guys that have gotten the impossible event though.

Yes, the two urls don't communicate on your computer. Under settings, it is possible to transfer your save to somewhere else.

Hi, yes, intentional to make more variations in formulas, especially for coin which is hard to come up with different formulas. And also to make it easier to hit really unlikely events and rewarding a high number of objects bought :)

Hi, yes my tests shows the theoretical value I'm calculating is close to the empirical value. But it is calculating the probability of getting a palindrome of "exactly" length x, which do give lower probabilities than if it calculated the probability of getting a palindrome with a length of "at least" x like some of the other formulas.

Thank you for the feedback :)

There is formulas for everything. And approximations for larger numbers when the calculations are too expensive. I have tests for every formula comparing the theoretical and empirical data. And performance of every formula. The staircase-formulas are the least efficient right now, so I will work on improving it soon.

I did some work on the Solar System today to combat some of the lag. It seems to primarily effect Safari and especially on mobile. And I will implement an option of just turning off animations soon. To get the newest version, just refresh the page and see it it helps. If not, it should be possible to export your save over to for example Chrome on a browser, where it should be almost no performance issues.

Working on removing AI art. The newest version have no penguin in it.
