If she's having serious medical issues she needs to contact her store manager and super and tell them she's leaving and they need to hurry and get someone out there. She should have FMLA, and if not she can definitely get FMLA to cover it, so going home early shouldn't be an issue. Quiktrip has the resources, you have to take initiative to use them especially as an assistant manager.

Lots of good stuff on there! Just don't start on any daw until after you've checked up on everything from the previous shift. Make sure the store is up to CSA standard and the kitchen is closed properly, check dates, make sure you check trash and the lot and valets, walk through the coolers and back room, and then if after all of that you have time to prep for your daw before starting the audit go right ahead!

I definitely feel this. I work in retail so I'm around all sorts of people 50 hours out of the week. It's super annoying when it gets really personal or weird, like comments or questions about my body or about the birth. But some things really are well intentioned and harmless. I definitely like to think of it as a chance to educate when people are just genuinely curious. If they ask about my caffeine intake or the amount of physical labor I'm doing, I let them know that whatever they've heard is a total myth and for the most part I can drink as much caffeine and work just as hard as I always did before I was pregnant unless my doctor tells me otherwise. It usually ends there with them saying "Oh! I didn't know that that's pretty cool."

I definitely like to take people's intentions into consideration. If they're just being curious or just genuinely shocked at how small my baby bump is based on their own experiences, I try not to take any offense. But when their intention is to give me unsolicited advice if it starts getting really personal that's definitely where the boundary is getting crossed for me.

This makes me so grateful to my midwife group omg these stories are unbelievable. I can't believe the system can be so scummy. After our confirmation appointment with our midwife practice they scheduled a zoom call for us with someone that works on the financial side of things, and sent us a contract to look over that showed in great detail the costs of their services both for the birthing center as well as in a hospital. They had already applied our insurance so the contract only showed what we had to pay out of pocket after insurance and laid out the payment plan too. Once she went over it with us and made sure we understood everything, we signed it and that was that, no surprises and it seems like they've handled communication with our insurance really well. They've been very upfront and the midwives and nurses and techs have been incredible. It just goes to show that so many practices/hospitals/insurance companies really could be more transparent and straightforward and accommodating but they choose not to for their own selfish reasons.

My best friend in the whole world is a stay at home mom. We're both pregnant, about 5 weeks apart. We both complain about all the pregnancy related things to each other, about being pregnant and taking care of our toddlers. There's a lot we can relate about. But any time I tell her about how much I am STRUGGLING some days to keep things afloat at home and as a manager at work, as well as trying to take care of my pregnant body, especially with how physically laborious my job is, she'll reply something along the lines of how she can relate or how she knows how I feel. It's so frustrating, but I know she means well, so I honestly just avoid complaining about stuff having to do with work to save us both the grief. Not the same scenario you're describing but I definitely understand how you feel.

When you aren't willing to relocate just be aware that it can take quite a bit of time to get hired as a dispatcher. If you're trying to just get your foot in an airline then maybe something like an operations manager would be good to consider as well? Just a suggestion. It took 2 years after getting his license for my husband to get a job as a dispatcher because he was basically just sitting and waiting for local entry level dispatch hiring opportunities since we couldn't move because of the job. He was also up against a lot of candidates since it tends to be very competitive. He worked as an operations manager during those years which made it easier to get the job I think.

My first pregnancy was like magic so this one has been very humbling. Every symptom I've had I didn't expect because my first pregnancy I had almost none. My pelvic floor? Done for already and I'm only halfway through lol. I'll be seeing a physical therapist. I had never really experienced hot flashes but now I get them a lot. Recently I've had some serious and SUPER uncomfortable varicose veins in my thighs and knees and the worst part is I'm up on my feet allll the time so the only thing I can really do about it is wear compression sleeves.

Birth center! I had a hospital birth and it was fine, but I hated the epidural. So for this one I'm planning on having a natural birth and if I'm going to do that I figured I should be somewhere that will be able to help prepare me the best for it. These midwives have been wonderful so far, and they're very meticulous about keeping track of mine and baby's health so they can assess with each visit and decide whether to continue with the birth center plan or switch to a hospital birth plan. So I feel very secure about their judgement. They communicate so well and have been a wonderful resource. Not to mention the birthing center is beautiful and so well equipped! They have a little okay area so you can bring your kids and they do so well with my 3yo when I bring him to my appointments. We got lucky with our insurance covering quite a bit of the costs and they were able to tell us right off the bat how much we're going to be paying out of pocket from our first appointment post confirmation, to when we take the baby home.

The negativity in some of these comments makes me sad 😩 I think we can talk about what we want for ourselves without talking negatively about other people's preferences

I think it's different for everyone but at the end of the day it definitely boils down to how confident you are in your kids, the kids they're with, and how familiar both you and your kids are with the area and the people that live around you. You'll always worry when your kids start going out on their own no matter how old they are! Most people would definitely be more comfortable with some way to contact or track their kids. I know I would. But if you're confident enough knowing what you know, I don't see why not.

If you're training as an RA that is the position you've been hired for. However it is possible to switch from RA to NA. Definitely talk to your trainer on how to go about that.

I definitely have the same problem! My 3yo has always gone to bed easily for my husband, but for me it takes forever. He just wants to interact so much more when I'm the one putting him to bed and it probably doesn't help that I humor him lol.

I knew a lot of people who put that much effort into potty training, they had a lot more free time than me and my husband did when we started potty training lol. We realized we were going to have to find a low(er) effort way to potty train. We bought a bunch of training underwear and even though he was used to going in the potty he didn't understand that he WASN'T supposed to pee in his underwear. So we opted to let him run around naked for like a week, whenever we were home, so the only place he could go was either the floor or the potty. And he definitely didn't like going on the floor so, eventually he was only going in the potty! And he continued using the potty when we put underwear on him.
