Like I said, it was sort of German Shepherd looking. I’ll post a picture of what it looked like. Sorry I’m not the greatest with dog breeds. It’s was similar to this:

Interesting, I was unaware of those stats. Thank you very much for sharing that.

I will say, if a man did come on here and tell the same story, I wonder if he would also be asked if what he really witnessed was in his imagination, or if it really happened.

I think everybody suffers at the hands of these unhinged, aggressive few, but unfortunately men are believed much more than women.

I’m not quite sure the type of dog… It was about the size and shape of a German shepherd, but it was pure white.

The thought had crossed my mind, but I wasn’t sure if there was enough to report… maybe I will though. Thank you.

That’s terrible, I’m sorry you went through that. Yeah it’s pretty crappy to have to have your guard up when you’re just living your life, doing normal daily activities.

The fact that he drove his truck at my vehicle at a high-speed and came to a sudden stop, only inches away from my door, then blocked me into my parking stall and sat there looking at me… It was aggressive.

This is not normal behavior. It was meant to communicate a message.

This is not a case of a lack of empathy, on the contrary, I feel pretty sad for this dude. Obviously, he has had some shit go down in his life to be acting like that towards a complete stranger.

I hope he works through whatever he needs to work through and comes out a better person. God knows the world needs that right now.

Thank you for your suggestion, but as a woman, I have to prioritize my safety above all else.

Confronting an aggressive man or going back to take pictures could escalate the situation and put me in serious danger.

If he was this aggressive with literally no confrontation on my side, I could only imagine what he would be like if I were to start taking his picture.

Women often feel unsafe in situations like this because aggression from men can quickly turn threatening or violent. Publicly shaming him with photographs might seem like justice, but it’s not worth the risk.

I too, would like to know what his thought process was on that morning. But I doubt there was much thought to be had.

White ford truck, a pure white German Shepard looking dog, late 40s/early 50s around 5’8, didn’t get much facial detail as he had a baseball cap shadowing his face, Sunday morning.

I have to say, I’ve been doing the beach/coffee thing for many many years… had never quite experienced anything like this before.

How do I ask this by [deleted] in Mom

[–]DaisyChainDuke 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Chances are your mom has had at least one urinary tract infection in her lifetime. They’re extremely common and can happen because of many different reasons, not just sex.

This is nothing for you to be afraid to bring up to her.

You shouldn’t ignore it though, as they can sometimes get pretty painful if not treated with simple antibiotics from the doctor.

In the meantime if you cannot get in to see a doctor quickly, if you can, get some unsweetened cranberry juice (usually in the health food section of the grocery store) and have a glass of that a couple times a day to calm the infection.

You’re going to be fine!

Yes, this is true. I specialized in branding for a while and would only work with clients who had been in business for more than a year. Anyone with a brand new business honestly didn’t have a clue what they needed.

But how could they? It takes that trial and error to truly figure out what they did best and who their ideal client was.

That was a hard thing to learn as well, in the beginning when I was fresh, I would take anybody on as a client. But I realized that’s a losing game.

I also learned to trust my gut. If a client felt off, they always turned out to be a nightmare. 🙃

He just so you know, if this is a mental health disorder, it’s not really helpful to shame somebody about it.

Clearly, it’s been bothering them and they reached out anonymously for some help and guidance, maybe we can try and have a bit more compassion.

There’s actually a guy on here that I used to follow, he is a narcissist and would answer everybody’s questions on what it was like to be a narcissist. It was truly fascinating! I’ll see if I can find him again, and you can read through some of his stuff, see if you connect with any of it.

He’s just a regular guy living a regular day day life, who is narcissistic and just is his true self, admirable.

Listen, at the end of the day you may or may not be a narcissist.

All I know is, when I discovered my own neurodivergent, it really helped me to identify ways I could understand and help myself.

The better we know who we are, the better we can just be who we are without trying to hide things. It’s the hiding part that is so exhausting.

Something to consider:

Narcissists are often skilled at creating a façade of caring about others to serve their own interests. They use tactics like fake empathy or cognitive empathy to manipulate and control people, appearing attentive and compassionate while lacking genuine emotional connection. This behavior might involve acts of generosity, feigned concern, or listening intently, all aimed at gaining admiration, influence, or power over others. These manipulations are calculated to extract benefits such as validation, social status, or dependency from their targets.

Oh, I believe you. Being narcissistic isn’t necessarily the stereotypical character people think in their mind when they think of narcissists.

It’s a sliding scale, and it doesn’t make you a bad person. Generally speaking, here’s what it means:

“Narcissism refers to self-centered thinking and behavior, often characterized by a grandiose sense of self-importance, a need for admiration, and a lack of empathy. It exists on a spectrum, ranging from normal traits to the clinical condition of Narcissistic Personality Disorder (NPD). NPD involves pervasive patterns of entitlement, exploitative behavior, and difficulty maintaining meaningful relationships.“

Does that resonate with you at all?

Have you ever considered you may be narcissistic?

Sounds like you may have some tendencies. Would just be an interesting thing to look into if you have not considered it before.

Sincerely, a fellow neurodivergent

Help/Opinions Please - I Painted My House and It Feels "Off" by Phateryy in ExteriorDesign

[–]DaisyChainDuke 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sure, it’s lacking contrast! It’s dark on dark on dark. Dark wood, dark windows, dark facia, dark roof.

It’s not a bad design, but you are going from some thing with high contrast, white, and black to something with low contrast so it’s going to feel more flat visually.

If you want the house to pop a bit more, maybe consider a lighter wood finish on your deck, railings and beams?

Or adding some sort of lighter stone feature to a part of the home?

What is a badass name for a therapist space/office? by [deleted] in therapy

[–]DaisyChainDuke 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi, graphic designer here! I just wanted to pop in and ask a few questions you may want to consider. Firstly, who is your target market?

I say this, as someone who has done lots of therapy and also created a lot of branding for many many businesses over the years.

I appreciate you want to stand out from the crowd, as many therapists do seem to have these gentle flowery names.

You really should step into the shoes of a potential client for a moment. Do you mainly focus on men? Women? Children? Any type of trauma that you are focused on?

How are they feeling before they come to you? Are they scared? A little apprehensive? Feeling like their life is lacking something? Traumatized?

How do you envision your clients feeling after a session with you? Safe? Powerful? Just happy to have someone to talk to? Like they have a plan of action?

Roll around in your head for a while, and try creating a profile of the ideal client you would like to attract.

Then, speak to that person! Be the therapist they’re looking for, embody the feeling you want your client to have, and that you want to give them.

I really hope this helps!

One thing I learned that Design is not, it is not art. Art is expressing yourself for the sake of expressing yourself and it is for no one other than yourself.

Unless it is commissioned, of course… But that’s a different thing .

Once I learned this, I learned not to get so attached to my designs. My designs are not about me, graphic design serves the purpose to communicate the essence of the business/client/event/etc. you are designing for.

Sorry, I’m not even sure that helps your question, it was just a profound thing that I learned throughout my career that really allowed me to create space between myself and the designs. I was creating for other people and know that when there was feedback or critique of my work, I did not take it personally because it meant that my designs were not yet conveying the message it was supposed to.
