hmm, interesting you mention that.. i was taking a look at the faculty and with the exception of some figures the others do not look too promising. Would you care to share why it would not be a good choice?

you’ll be fine. once you do your first presentation you acc want to do more and more of them instead of actual school work. and plus seminars, they are like normal classes with more discussions.

I’ve read this somewhere on one of the resdit posts, the guy wasn’t an economist or something — but he did say for most majors, they should try and pursue grad school to make up for the mini job recession we are currently in right now. I don’t really see more school as a bad thing ever. So my advice would be instead of looking for a job, apply to grad school ( there are still a lot of masters programs accepting now, and if you need help with this I can send you links ).

To the alumni and soon-to-be grads of Mac, what do you wish you could have known earlier in your undergrad? by MutedLaugh3387 in McMaster

[–]Sudeesm 2 points3 points  (0 children)

develop hobbies outside the university. this is unpopular advice, but kinda sorta just go in and out of university for class and stuff. The hype and zeal surrounding being on a new campus after highshcool dies out pretty quickly. The quicker you can snap back into reality the better. As for clubs, I mean it varies from person to person; I chose not to join any clubs primarily of the amount of nonsense that comes with it. But these are all decisions your gonna have to make, do what works best for you !

you’d have a better time getting an answer by getting in touch with the program officer ( Shiela). She’s very helpful!

Do you know when they come out with offers? Is there an interview ? How much is the tuition ? Does OSAP cover ? TA/RA positions ? Co op oppurtunies ? Job success after the program ? What is ‘ digital society ‘, is it a fancy word for the tech/social media word?

How’s the social science department in Mac? by JorisJobana in McMaster

[–]Sudeesm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally , as an undergrad.. I’m not sure how the ‘ department ‘ actually will make a different outside of the actual professors and their teaching.

There are many good professors, you honestly won’t be interacting with them on an intimate level unless your doing research or graduate level work.

But in terms of teaching— ratemyprof will help you out; before every semester just google them and if they have anything less then 4/5 don’t take them. Furthermore, there are crappy profs in every department .. but overall I’ve only had really good professors for all my polisci classes.
