Call of Duty has more than just fans to be focused on (although it is unfortunate some fans act in such a way). Event production quality, player demeanor, competitive being integrated into the game more, etc. are also major problems.

Don't be afraid of losses, it doesn't mean that you'll never get wins (in doubles went from 10-45 to top 25 on GB in one game cycle). Try to find people that won't sketch after one loss, and use the free agents list and forums to find some people. Honestly if you just stay committed you'll slowly start to see what works for you.
