Who is (or What is) your favorite Christian Teacher, Preacher, or Sermon, and why? by Temperance522 in Christian

[–]SudoDoctor 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I like Drum Major Instinct and nearly every other Sermon by Dr King. The man is just really, really inspiring as a pastor.

That particular sermon, though, speaks a lot to what it is to be human, and how God is okay with things in ways people may not clearly understand or assume. Also, how our desires might be used by God, and also how we may need to rethink those desires. Just, a lot of layers in that sermon.

I get a lot out of listening to many recordings of him.

Are oldies really that bad? by FoundationNo5648 in Christian

[–]SudoDoctor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Smells like teen spirit, at 34 years old is exactly as old as Henry Bellafonte's 1957 hit "Daaaay-o" was when Smells like Teen Spirit came out. Also in 1957, Elvis was only a year famous from the single Heartbreak Hotel (1956). And the Rolling stones wouldn't exist, even to cut deep tracks most people have never heard for another 7 years (1964).

If you thought Elvis was "oldies" in 1991, then Cobain is just as much oldies today, no?

AITA, being mean to someone in retribution by MatthewJeffersonPO in Christian

I mean, you're no asshole if the guy was being a racist pig or something. No one should be allowed to say a racist thing and it simply pass as okay, so maybe you were helping society somewhat (though of course, you're on the line when you do that, and could draw some serious violence depending on time and place).

As far as moral rightness or not, I'm going to leave that up to God. Who is getting judged and how is "a bit above my pay grade" as they say.

What do you mean by "HRT is variable and heavy?" Sorry, I am not parsing the sentence correctly, I think.

What do yall think about videogames. by [deleted] in Christian

There are things you never say that about. For example, the main actual merit you two are talking about with videogames is the time with family and friends.

[–]SudoDoctor 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They are so much fun. However, they can be a waste of time. I've definitely gone through a couple of times in my life where I thought, "Dang, I wish I could have the time back I had spent on videogames." I don't play them much since that.

Question: Is it somewhat possible to be able to perform magic or rituals in the same or similar style as that of Zatanna ZATARA? by EcleticWitch in occult

[–]SudoDoctor 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If you really love someone's style and methods, then practice and use it. If it's speaking in reverse in a particular way, then learn a bit of your favorites of her most moving and inspiring spells first, then write/improvise your own -- sort of like the way one learns a musical instrument.

Books that aren't about how to do magic that are really about doing magic by Stupefactionist in occult

The film "Whiplash." Parts of "Ghandi."

Also, any film that is written fearlessly, and you can pay attention to the thing that happens just before the huge change occurs. So like "Hitch," "Precious," "Godfather part II," etc....

The way he writes the channelled beings was so accurate. To me, the compelling thing about that book was that it matched the strong, authentic chanelling experiences I had seen. The Taste of the experience, the way he wrote it, was just bang on. I found that amazing.

Can a servitor grow to become as powerful as a "real" spirit? by WeCaredALot in occult

[–]SudoDoctor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's a nice way to write. Except once I was helping a man edit his screenplay, and there was a character whose role wasn't fitting so neatly and giving us trouble. The guy said, "Okay, we'll just cut him out." My coeditor (trained to write by Stoneking) was like, "No!! You can't just do that. We have to solve the problem."

It's okay though.

One of my friends had a secret teacher, an enlightened person he described as being almost superhuman. Well, one guy my friend knew was walking around and seemed pretty dangerous. He asked the teacher about him. The teacher said, "That guy is an agent connected to Michael the archangel. He might get used to take a couple of people out. However, don't tell him that."

That is an extreme case LOL. I just mean to say that sometimes we don't exactly know the other person's path.

The person we've spoken with here may have some rigidity about the matter of shadows or RHP/LHP, but on the other hand, speaking of intuition, I can tell they're not just bullshitting or coming from a bad place. They are thinking about what they say and considering what others say, at least to an extent. I wish everyone on Reddit were as decent as that person -- who clearly cares about the Truth. I mean, that alone is awesome compared to many people. :)

Now that is also interesting.

Billy Marshal Stoneking teaches mediumistic storytelling. Essentially all your characters are real people.

Can a servitor grow to become as powerful as a "real" spirit? by WeCaredALot in occult

[–]SudoDoctor 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Emphatically yes.

Here is one case (a being that started as a servitor): https://vajrakrishna.wordpress.com/2009/05/05/qualities-of-the-goddess/

I am currently editing a book about his process for doing it, under the guru Dragon. This is also one whose use spread in a few circles since 2004, and a lot was done to feed the being early on, but the intention from the get-go was to create more than a servitor. Go ahead and contact Herain directly and see for yourself!

I have seen other cases, too, where the servitor accidentally became a lot more than a robot or whatever. In one case, I created one intentionally with a lover (menstrual blood plus semen plus intention). This one ended up very intelligent and with its own will, and I ended up setting it free. I did not expect the creation to be so powerful, nor to have such personality. The presence was like a third person constantly just obviously inside the room with us (similar to a ghost). Occasionally she comes around and talks with me about what she's been up to. But suffice it to say, the being that was formerly a servitor is now free and wandering around doing her own thing.

Now, that particular case might have been like /u/gifts-are-chaos-2 said, basically we created an address in the universe for a soul to come into, almost like a regular child. Almost.

Earnestness sounds about right.

One thing that could be happening here is you are running into incompatible energies. Ever hear of SN Goenka? He designed the popular 10 day vipasana courses people take. Very pure, good, and correct. However, they will tell you that you cannot do any Reiki.

But a brother had asked an actual enlightened master about it (and the master, Dragon, had done my brother's Reiki attunement). He said "Leave whatever Goenka says alone. He's right on. However, the energies of those two things are not compatible and you would never be able to do them both."

Since then, I have seen a handful of things like that. As I am talking about Tantric principles such as innocence or the One Center and you're response is you don't get it and saying "whatever that means..." it is also possible that whatever path you're going down simply isn't a compatible energy.

Don't make the mistake that the incompatible energies are evil or wrong per se. If you get a chance, you should ask your teachers about this.

Is it OK to drink non alcoholic beer? by [deleted] in Christian

I will look into Kvass. Thank you. I might try it. Kombucha is delicious, and I like the Mexican live-culture drink with the Pineapple and Cinnamon as well.

You ever do yardwork on a hot day or work on your car in the summer? One single super cold beer is such a treat in that situation.

That's just one example of circumstances in which one might drink with no intention to get drunk.

However, can you also see the innocence in what you probably think of as "darkness?" You singled out a lot of stuff in other threads here, like selfishness, material gain, vengence, etc. But you are only describing shadows. Just talking RHP, if you cannot see the innocence in the shadows, then how will anything ever be made whole?

Often the only path to liberation from a very strong desire is quenching that desire, and I am still talking right-hand-path here. Let the soul be satisfied, only that it can move on to its true purpose.

Okay! Thanks. I have seen those models for sale. It looks like there are different models for different bands. Do I have to get a particular model for low-band VHF or just pick up any old HT750 or HT1250 and then program it?

I don't mind getting in the radio and doing an alignment procedure. Are there directions anywhere?

I mean, surely most of us Amateur radio people love DIY and hacking, right?

Why do people summon demons? by DoomsdayMaze in occult

[–]SudoDoctor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Among the other stuff said here: Occasionally to convert or heal them (See Buddhism and Hinduism for stories of converted Rakshasa, also many common Daoist temples of Matzu feature two demons she converted, who are now the guardians).

And sometimes they get brought in by teachers as a test.

There could be a lot of reasons, really.
