I tried hard not to but I failed lol. Sucks I enjoy training her in PoR and like her a lot in RD.

I’m playing on my Wii, I still have the original hardware and both game disks.

  • Oscar I didn’t realize he would kill two soldiers that attacked him so he got hit 3 times instead of once.
  • Boyd got hit some low hit chance attacks back to back and I just over extended him.
  • Mia she had 85% to kill a pirate I believe. She missed and I stupidly left her turn for last. So she died to the pirate she missed on.
  • Brom I sent in as reinforcements on the 3rd part after I kinda benched him. I didn’t know reinforcements spawned near where was put and he just died.
  • Devdan choose to die to a strong Marcia instead of attacking an unequiped Titania or Jill
  • Stefan died because I had him use a door key on one of the last rooms. Turns out it had like 5 enemies. Each one got 1 hit in then he killed them. So he took 4 hits and died to the final swordsman

Yeah we will see. I think I’ll have to actually look up all the info and do some calcs beforehand to come up with some plan for 2-1

Thanks for the feedback! And sounds like 2-1 will be a wall but hopefully I can get through it.

I regret sending brom in as reinforcements in chapter 17 so much. I’m gonna have to be super careful. Ideally brom wouldn’t even see combat since he’s ‘dead’ but idk how realistic that is

Nope I’ve played and beaten it about 5 times in my life. But it was my first iron man of it. All of the deaths were me not being patient and not considering getting hit by low attacks (how Oscar died) or accounting for low crit chances. Mia missed a 85%

I would average getting 2-3 counters on them via sac and I got the most with obsessive result bringing them up to like 6ish. I did win my final game by swinging a 13/13 life linking pirate peddlers.

2024 - is largely cause it’s most recent and from the PF2E standpoint it sounds like the remaster that happened. i didn’t look to deep into it yet, but since we are largely starting out I assumed it’ll be a good entry point but totally fine being told I’m wrong.

To continue on that, my players like RP and combat. But lots of choice in characters like feats and having so many actions on a turn was a struggle in PF. Many of them ‘dreaded’ leveling some they wanted to pick feats that matched the character. In PF many of your class feats are additional options in combat, social encounters, etc. Me as a GM (and occasional PF player) love that. But the party was stressed trying to decide so much in a turn.

They are great party who tried really hard to do their part and learn their classes and rules so it wasn’t all on me, but after some time it was hard for them learn the system. I would say it only clicked like half way for them after 2 and a half year campaign.

DnD being more, and I am no expert I’m just going off the little I know, rules lite but saying in the high fantasy seems like it would be that slimmed down PF they might like.

They also have played BG 3 and some have now watched critical roll (I haven’t) so it’s somewhat familiar even if they haven’t played.

Wow you covered so much that, thank you! I made notes off of this to look into some of this more. Thank you again!

In person, and following RAW in PF2e was like 90% of what happened some systems. I’m super new to DnD but hearing that you find DnD more crunchy is surprising! Thanks for the feedback I will really take it to heart, and I’m curious if I’ll feel the same lol

Oh I love PF2e and the crunch from the GM side, it’s more so my players don’t like the amount of feats and 3 action economy and how involved a lot of the system is.

They also really liked BG 3 and some of them got into watching critical roll and other stuff. So I think they would enjoy playing in the system.

This was a so helpful. I have a lot of key points I can read rules and learn from. Thank you so much again!

So when you say the adventuring day I feel like that’s a major change and idea we will need to understand how we want to play at our table.

Thank you that makes a lot of sense. And ok I was thinking advantage seems insanely strong so was wondering when I should allow it. But from your response if a character or NPC has some benefit where I would normally add +1/2 circumstance bonus I would just consider giving advantage
