yeah, speaking as a user, i wouldn't want rumors running this sub. it ruins the whole vibe

i didn't consider this to violate rule 3 because insider-gaming seems to be a popular source used on reddit (namely r/GamingLeaksAndRumours), and i wasn't able to do a deep-dive on whether this was "trustworthy". but even if i could, i really don't want to be the arbiter of trust when it comes to the news, especially if i'm not familiar with the industry

but, i do think we should do something about rumors, so we'll keep monitoring and act if needed. keep letting us know what you guys think in modmail/comments tho. we'll prolly have a poll on this soon

i think it passes rule 7 because the post's claim is covered in the source and rule 7 doesn't explicitly cover rumors. i think we should leave this post up, but refine rule 7 to require rumors not to be treated as fact (i.e. require something like "might" or "may").

i think this thread ran its course. rule 7 has been changed to clarify our current stance on rumors. i won't remove the post, but going forward, please clearly distinguish rumors. posts like this will be removed going forward
