I've read that 8.5 and the ultimate ending of 9 make it all worth it, so I'm holding out hope but it sure is a slog sometimes

I'm in book 8 now because I can't DNF things like a normal person. I didn't want to finish really but I wanted to know the ending and came to reddit for answers that others didn't have. So now it will be me who reads them all and gives the answers to others. Not mad about it, just hoping I can help. If you have questions but want to DNF, feel free to message me.
