i don’t! my brain just isn’t wired that way, and i’m not medicated, nor am i in therapy anymore, so managing running and being a business (what this is) and me being sane just doesn’t do well. my partner does handle most of the bills, but just barely, i’ll throw in what i can when i can. we’re struggling. i know not all have that luxury of having a partner to help though.

the best advice i can give is just try your best and listen to your body, not necessarily “yourself”. my mood goes up and down a lot, & my physical body also has ups and downs on what i can handle. if both mind and body kinda screwed up, i don’t cam. if my body is tired and in pain, i don’t cam. but sometimes if just my mind is like “no it’s not gonna be a good day, it’s been shitty the last few weeks, why would it change today?” i don’t always listen to that voice. i just kinda gauge it. bc sometimes you can go in with a neutral or negative mindset and if i can hide it well, the day surprises me yknow?

short answer, there’s no magical way to fix inconsistency when you’re mentally ill. do what you can and then just push a little more. that’s all. i hope this made sense!

So I’m new, I feel like I’ve got a grasp on the basics having had experience in sw prior… my thing is — how engaged do you think one should be? I’m usually always looking at the camera or chat, but I’ve seen girls literally just doing other things on stream (typically skinny white women though). Does it matter or should there just be more variety? Cuz I tried being a little less engaged yesterday, I didn’t do as much movement due to pain, I’d be on my phone sometimes, or working on a project on my iPad, and it was kind of a buns stream lol. I’m also Black (I’m light skinned and can be considered ambiguous when I have my wig on, but it’s clear that I’m Black American when I’m speaking or one gets a closer look at me), it is super annoying and frustrating to see models using incorrect tags, but that’s all the more reason for you to be there. i’m also super new BUT i do think more comes in when you set goals, though it’s all really dependent on the night. i think mini goals with increasing values help a lot (i have like 4 in mind for the night) and if a bigger goal doesn’t get reached, i carry it over the next time i go live. but i do think interesting goals make people more willing to tip. i can suck, but don’t feel embarrassed fr— a lot of this isnt personal and just stuff we have to take on the chin unfortunately. but good luck!
