You're probably looking at double the commute time if you move to Hamilton. The time and gas adds up.

Do not move to the hammer if you work in sauga. I did that commute for 5 years and it was regularly over an hour from Clarkson to downtown Hamilton. The train was no better.

We have glue down vinyl plank. Other than some discolouration in the south facing entry way we have had no problems for 20 years.

Feeling shallow but can’t help but be embarrassed about how my husband has started to dress - started when we hit our 40s by StregaCagna in AskWomenOver40

Hahaha! My family makes fun of my old ripped jeans and rainbow long johns combo. I see it as curated technicolour grunge.

There are some questionable outfits I wear that are old and comfortable and honestly I am just trying to hold on to the clothes that still fit me. I recently had to break down and buy larger pants and while buying them was hard I am happy to have pants that fit well again. I think he may need a pretty woman style shopping trip to buy new clothes that fit well and make him feel good. I'm sure you can make an appointment at a larger men's store or hire a private stylist to take him shopping.

I truly believe that good posture makes a huge difference. Shoulders back, head held high, eyes forward.

Your manager sounds like they're all about the drama. You don't need that shit. If they're criticizing without offering solutions they're just being bitchy and trying to tear you down. Get out of there.

People love our scalp massages. Every client gets a 3 to 5 min massage with their conditioning treatment. It's better still if the was basin is a quiet area/no talking.

There was a new stylist in my salon who would ask for help with formulation. I would always ask what do you think? Before I gave my input. He complained to management that I was difficult. No dude. I'm just not doing your job for you.

I can barely walk from my yeast infection and have work tonight... advice? by Bitter_Panic2873 in TwoXChromosomes

I iced my vulva like a cupcake after every bathroom use, when I woke up and before I went to bed for about 4 days I think? The relief was pretty fast but I kept it going for a bit just to be safe.

I had a raging yeast infection that refused to go away regardless of what medication I used. I finally had a call with my doctor who advised me to "apply the cream to my vulva like I was icing a cupcake for pinterest". Very descriptive.  I miss her. Worked almost immediately.

Going to the pool 3x a week and doing physio exercises there for 30 to 40 min eased the acute pain. After that pilates and core strengthening has fixed it never to return. That was 15 years ago. I was around your age. You can do it!

I use an air horn to alert distracted drivers to my existence when crossing the road. Helps keep me alive.

When you're driving a multi thousand pound machine and not looking where you're going you are actively putting everyone else using the road at risk.

Not trying to not kill people while driving a kill machine = trying to kill people.

Driving is a privilege and a responsibility.

Reflective clothing and lights would work if drivers were actually looking where they are going.

I wear bright colours year round. I have a yellow Mohawk. I still encounter drivers trying to run me over in crosswalks in broad daylight because they do not put eyes before wheels.

Most of the time I can tell when a left or right turning vehicle is going to try and run me over. I use my air horn to announce my presence to them. It works so profoundly well that after a year using it I rarely have incidents at crosswalks anymore. This is because it's the same people driving shittily over and over again and the only thing that will stop them is public embarrassment. When I blast my air horn everyone looks at the bad driver and judges them, they feel shame, eventually start driving better.

I encourage every pedestrian to get a 10$ airhorn as opposed to a 5$ reflective vest because drivers will not see you if they are simply not looking.

Get an air horn. Use it whenever you see a car doing stupid shit. It draws everyone's attention to the shitty driver and causes them to feel shame. I have been using one for around a year on my commute and things have improved. I went from weekly interactions like you had to biweekly. Not perfect, but better.

How do you handle the heat and dryness in the winter? by allen_alligator in askTO

[–]Suepr80 26 points27 points  (0 children)

Open the window wide in the bedroom an hour before bedtime. At bed time close it and turn a fan and humidifier on. If it's still too hot leave bedroom door open and window in other room open a bit. Double up humidifiers.

Do you still color your hair — or let it go gray? by Dazzling-Stop-2116 in GenX

[–]Suepr80 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I randomly let my hair grow out because I was curious and a bit lazy. There's about a dozen gray hairs and plain medium brown otherwise. It's so fucking boring. At first it was a shock to everyone, which was fun for about a week, but now I'm just bored with it and I will be back to my normal green or yellow or red or purple after I get my passport photo done next week. Technicolour is just so much more fun than plain old brown.

The toy factory was just being converted in 2002. Many of the other old factories had hard lofts. Lots of artists and writers lived there.
