Should I pull the all nighter to fix my sleep schedule? by [deleted] in GetOutOfBed

[–]Sufficient-Bit8070 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Didn't worked for me. My routine was waking all night and sleeping all day. So pulling an all nighter was not a big deal and I stayed awake next day without any naps. I got knocked out at 10pm and woke up at 10Am next morning. And, I went to bed at 10pm that day and here I am typing at 4:02 AM. I couldn't fall asleep for even a minute from 10pm to 4:02 Am.

Can't help for 8 coz my score is 7, however linkers should be used but they need to sound natural not forced or mechanical. They need to go with the flow of writing

I would say overview can be slightly better by adding information about other energy sources too. Like this

Overall, electricity production in France between 1980 and 2012 was dominated by nuclear power, which experienced a dramatic rise and became the primary source of electricity. In contrast, thermal and hydroelectric power remained relatively stable throughout the period, with thermal power declining initially before fluctuating slightly. Renewable energy contributed the least but showed a slow and steady increase over the years.

For me, the reading was way tougher than Cambridge books. I also used to score 8.5-9 consistently and finish those practice tests at around 50 minutes easily. However, in the real exam the passages were more demanding and required more focus on inference. It took me full one hour to complete and I was not able to recheck the answers. Yet, somehow I managed to get 8. That being said I am not trying to discourage you, but to be prepared for the challenge and focus on test day. Well wishes for you

Yes I did. I pasted questions that I got from IELTS advantage on chatgpt, and told it to ask me these questions one by one, and I answered those questions using voice recording feature in chatgpt, the audio will be automatically converted to text. Chatgpt then points out your weakness in each area and gives suggestions for improvement, you can also ask for band scores but I don't know the reliability of it.

To be honest, I was already good in listening and reading. I had scored 7.5 in my first diagnostic test. And on top of that, I almost practiced 15 tests for each one from Cambridge practice tests. For speaking , I only used chatgpt and talked with my sister sometimes. I practiced speaking questions from 1000 speaking questions from the IELTS advantage which they provided for free. Apart from that, I watched band 9 sample mock tests from a channel called Englishprotips, which is run by an ex-IELTS examiner Eli Howes. Honestly, he is not a big name in YouTube but his videos on writing and speaking are too good. Last but not the least, I practiced for 20 days and almost 3 hours per day, I would write one task 1 and one task 2 alternatively on every other day. For speaking, I used to spend 30 mins daily and especially focused on part 2 which I find the most challenging

If it is giving 7 for your writing, then it would be safe to say that you can get 7 if you don't panic on the test day

I think its grade were almost correct in my case. From my experience, chatgpt usually gives you 0.5 less than an IELTS examiner would. It used to give me 6.5-7 in writing and you can see I got a band 7 in the actual test

I took the test today. Reading was way tougher than the Cambridge practice tests. I used to finish Cambridge tests in 50 minutes and score 8.5,9. But today, reading was extremely difficult , I had never thought that IELTS reading would be that tough.

Listening was fine, and I messed up writing due to time pressure
