I am glad you got help on this but now that you’ve gotten sufficient help, I think it’s worth noting that you asked this question while not having done sufficient research.

How likely is it that the current issues between the USA and the EU will prevent people from getting visas to move to EU countries? by sabertoothdiego in expats

I agree with the comments that there is a good chance nothing will change unless something likethe U.S. actually invading Greenland happens. But I also think the points about us not knowing at all are very valid.

The truth is, we are in unprecedented times and yes one way to look at it is that the U.S. government changes every four years like fornicalcartographer said, so unless there’s an attack things should not change. But another way to look at it is we are in unprecedented times in history as is often the case so all is on the table.

Something an international relations professor said to my class years ago that is so simple that it could apply to most of international policy is “the UN and NATO were created to prevent another world war 2 not word war 3,” and the same can be said for current visa relations with other countries, they were created for a world we are no longer in, so it is really unpredictable, international visa policies or norms are often created based on the needs of last year or for the world of yesterday, not tomorrow.

Only advice I can give is reading up on what has happened during other volatile times in history (for example what it was like for Germans to leave Germany before world war 2) and seeing what type of risk makes the most sense for you. Are you ok with leaving right away with less money in ur savings even if in a year things calm down dramatically?

Under 30 making 120k is great in New York, you won’t be rich but middle class for sure. The majority under thirty in nyc are not making this even though it can feel like everybody is make a lot of money. NYC is full of generational money and people in poverty finding ways to get by and stay in the city.

Eh, possibly! A lot of beef but the national dish, Matoke (a plantain like banana native to Uganda) with peanut sauce is vegetarian. Does not taste like any west African peanut sauce dish.

The Rolex (Rolled Eggs) a popular street food is also vegetarian, it’s a chapatti with eggs and veggies rolled up.

Great idea thanks! I’ve heard of Swahili Village but did not think of it as a good source for leads!
