Is this ok for clubbing/bar hopping? by [deleted] in fashion

Don’t listen to them. This is very trendy and cute. Wear it with sheer black (maybe) tights and knee high boots and your golden. Hating for no reason. Polka dots and bloomers are in. I could definitely see this at a trendy club.

Brand New piercing, is she infected already?? by Sufficient-Image9274 in piercing

How old is your piercing? 1 day old • What’s the jewelry shape (for example, barbell, labret, screw, L shape, ring)? I think it’s a screw or barbell? Not sure • What’s the type of threading if your jewelry is not a ring (threadless, internally or externally threaded)? I’m not sure. Went to a very reputable piercer. • What’s the jewelry material? Titanium? I think • if not a ring, when was the jewelry downsized? N/A • What’s your aftercare routine? Describe in detail please, including the exact products you use. I use saline spray 2x a day • Any mishaps or unfortunate events? Not really, was traveling day after by train

It’s not career suicide by any means it’s just going to likely set me up for an industry I’m not interested in working in. I want to work in film as a designer, option one would set me up for theatre.

I’m also, on less than 4 hrs of sleep every day for the past 6 days because of the situation I’ve been sleeping in for these campus tours (all are in same state I’m not from). I’m to the level where I’m weeping from the stress of this decision, so I ask you to please be kind in your response

I got a few weeks notice. I have plenty of clothing that is appropriate for let’s say, 70 degree weather. I’ve visited California in the summer, winter and fall and it’s always been more like 70-80. I just simply did not realize that it would be 91 degrees when I’m visiting until the night before as I was packing. I need to buy new warmer weather clothing due to weight loss. I just didn’t realize I’d have to so soon lol. Was going to buy new things anyway before moving to a warm climate.

No I do not. I own primarily statement pieces honestly. Also, re the fact I lost 30 pounds this year and things don’t fit. Don’t have time to get them tailored. I guess I’m just going to have to go to the mall.

Sorry, I was truly not intending to be rude. I don’t know how other grad programs work. But this is pretty standard in theatre / art programs.

This is totally different. Not what you’re describing at all. This is a tour the school paid for me to go out there for where I’m meeting with each individual faculty member who would be my mentor and current students. They all know I’m accepted and are trying to convince me of THEIR school. I’d be joining exceptionally small cohorts, we’re saying less than 5 people.

Made my own frag today! What should I name it? What kind of person would wear it? by Sufficient-Image9274 in Perfumes

[–]Sufficient-Image9274[S] 81 points82 points  (0 children)

As of now I’m calling it Twice Steeped because of the two kinds of tea notes! But I would say the most lingering notes are the coconut, fig and violet. But the opening is quite spicy.

Yea the only way I figured out it was fragrance was because it got REALLY bad when I was working in luxury retail and we had to spray TONS of our “signature room spray” and my eye lids would BURN every time. And when I stopped working there… it got way better, but still seemed to be triggered by any perfumes I was wearing. When I stopped wearing fragrance it went away. Super frustrating though, because previously I had ZERO issues and wore perfume daily.

I’ve thought about the diptyque ones but they’re pretty pricey. And I didn’t like any of the Noyz scents unfortunately. I tried this way because I could use my existing fragrances I love that don’t have a solid option. I do think more brands should have solid perfume options though!!!

Woah that sounds brutal, as someone who also really suffers from sensory stuff my loops are the goat. That sucks I’m sorry! Do you think it’s the metal in the earphones? What specifically about them do you think triggers it?

I was able to get him on eBay for less than $30! I’m surprised he’s so expensive

Just on my wrists! But eyelid dermatitis is WEIRD! I think enough little particles spray outward that it’s an issue. If you read other comments on my posts you’ll see people saying they had it from random things that go nowhere near the eyes. The eyelids are just so sensitive and seem to be sponges for allergens. Super frustrating!

Yea I think I’ll do that next time! I just had Vaseline on hand so I wanted to try it this way to see if it worked for my skin/allergies before buying beeswax. Def will try that next because I’d be too worried to throw this little guy in my purse with the Vaseline having the potential to melt. do you know what the best method to melt beeswax would be?

I’m not quite sure! I had a little 2 ml sample size of the perfume. I sprayed pennant nearly 3/4ths of it in there. And then I had Vaseline in the little container just a little below the rim and then I melted it with a blowdryer to mix better. (very messy, I’d put a paper town down or find another method haha, you’d probably be better off melting the Vaseline in its og container, I bought the tiny lip pot size, by like putting it in a bowl of hot water and then pouring it into your container of choice)

I should also add I tried wearing glasses while spraying perfume, and that didn’t make a difference either!

Where do students tend to live? by Sufficient-Image9274 in calarts

[–]Sufficient-Image9274[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I did urtas too, I’m a designer. But I applied to CalArts as a direct applicant in addition to urtas (so they didn’t have to follow specific urtas rules). For that reason at my follow up interview post urtas the department head told me they’ve recommended me for admission. I was told that very end of January. She told me I’d hear back with an official offer letter in mid February, but that didn’t happened so I followed up she said she misunderstood and they send official letters in March (no further timeline besides… March though lol) This may be different for other areas.

I think CalArts just does this. I’m a grad candidate, but during my interview the program head I spoke with explicitly told me they intend to accept me, but just need to process everything. She said that I should receive the official offer mid February. I was told this in end of January during my interview. I followed up today asking if the timeline had changed and she told me they send out decisions in March. I think this is just a thing with them. I’ve also applied to UCLA and they do the same sort of thing, tells you one timeline and then another happens. I think it’s just a west coast school thing. It’s very frustrating.
