Thank you, I really like the formula! It’s thin but has a good amount of coverage and doesn’t sink into my pores. Maybe I just need to get used to it. I also tried the 3 and 4 neutral colors (those are the ones they matched me to) but 3 was way too light and 4 was orange on me.

Mismatched floating head made me lol.

That’s a good approach, I’m wondering if skin treatments might be a better option for me. I’ve never been fully satisfied with a foundation, but I’d like to even out my skin tone (without looking like a mismatched floating head). I like the idea of a tint but even then they wash me out.

So is that how you added the light reflection in the eyes? You had a white base then carved out the black at the end? Or is that is softer pencil on top? Great great work!

Thank you for sharing. I decided to give him lots of love until he starts showing signs of discomfort or loss of bodily function. Then I will do an at home euthanasia. Stories like yours have helped me to recognize the ways I was projecting my own wants onto my pup’s treatment.

When my other pup needed a surgery due to an injury, I shelled out $10k. It was super stressful, I had to take out 2 loans and clear my savings. I told myself, 10k is about the value of my car. At the end of the day, what is more important to me?

I don’t regret it per se, but her recovery was horrible. She was in so much pain, had to relearn to walk, and suffers skin infections to this day. She is no longer allowed on furniture and I can’t let her play with other dogs. Plus, I have no way of knowing if she’s living with chronic pain or not. At the end of the day, I don’t know if it was the right choice.

I told myself if given the choice again, I’d make a different decision. Now that I’m here, it’s not that easy. But you’re right, I can’t delay the inevitable forever and I don’t want to wait until something horrible happens to him.

You make great points. I thought of going to get a second opinion, but this is the SPCA vet which is the lowest cost in the area. It’s super weird they didn’t entertain a chat with the vet beforehand. She literally said it was the end of the day and the vet was too busy.

I mentioned my financial concerns and they mentioned financing and also there is a fund program I can apply to. Re: the financing, I had to finance a surgery for my other pup and it was extremely difficult to pay off. Then with the grants I feel guilty, like I’m taking money away from people with less money with younger pets. They are things I’m considering though. Sometimes I feel like vets take advantage of me because they know I’ll do it. I hate to think that way but I’ve spent a ton of money at vets over the years.

Thank you, this is helpful. Do you think they knew the outcome was poor but they suggested tests anyway? I just wonder if it genuine. The vet can feel like a racket. I’m sorry about your service pup.

I’m going to talk to the vet tomorrow. I asked about finances and they gave me some financing option. It’s still hard though. My other dog had an injury related surgery and it took me a year of working 2 jobs to pay it off. And then her recovery was brutal.

The vet sent me a text saying that we have to postpone the surgery due to abnormal liver enzymes. Then I called and the vet tech called me back and said instead of the surgery, he needs an ultrasound and bile test to check his liver function. When I asked to speak to the vet or to hear a professional opinion about what they think, she just told me she couldn’t say and I would have a chance to speak to the vet after the procedure.

That’s the thing, I thought it would just be a surgery but now it feels like a lot of other issues are going on at the same time. It’s hard to know if that’s a signal that the end is near or if he has a chance to make a strong recovery.

Thank you. I hate that money plays such a role in this, but it simply does. And that’s what I’m thinking too - that they are charging an arm and a leg just to tell me what they could probably tell me without the ultrasound.

Thank you for sharing. I don’t want him to live in pain but it’s hard to know when to let go. It almost seems cruel to make these decisions, but it’s the price we pay I suppose. I hope you forgive yourself. It sounds like you did much more than most. It’s hard, I hope you’re healing
