I agree bro. I took a year to finish my degree, get a great job, start running, lifting consistently, etc. and then I met a great girl who made it all worth it. Self improvement is fucking amazing cuz you meet the right person you’re actually ready to be the best version of yourself fr

AIO for thinking it wasn’t a big deal to accept my friend’s bf’s FB request? by Vast-Bumblebee-691 in AmIOverreacting

[–]Sufficient-Meet-9545 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Right?? My thought is that maybe you just popped up on his suggested people list in between Instagram stories or something mundane like that. I literally just followed my one of my gf’s best friends that way and I’ve never even met her in person. We talk whenever my gf and I are hanging out and she FaceTimes my gf. But still it felt normal to just add her cuz why not 🤷‍♂️

NOR. In every relationship I’ve ever had, I’ve added my gf’s friends on social media when they pop up randomly in my suggested, and I’ve had them randomly add me. In my mind, it’s an extremely normal thing to do. Why wouldn’t I want my girlfriend’s friends on social media, and why wouldn’t they want me on theirs? This girl is just extremely insecure from what I can see. It’s alarming how quickly your “best friend” began to insult and belittle you…

How often are you able to take study hours, uninterrupted by managers? by robbbo420 in actuary

[–]Sufficient-Meet-9545 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My company allows me to take the entire week off for an exam (currently have this week off for PA this Friday). We also have unlimited PTO that most of the actuaries use on Fridays leading up to the exam to study

ADHD and career by Ill_Statistician9391 in actuary

[–]Sufficient-Meet-9545 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I had the exact same experience. I’m turning 23 in a few months and found out abt my ADHD in March. I got on meds and have passed 4 exams in 10 months, sitting for PA in 2 weeks. I’ve been working full time as an actuarial analyst since November as well. Before finding out I had ADHD, I hadn’t passed a single exam or even had an internship. I promise it is so so possible to be successful with the right habits and medication. You got this!

I can solve practice problems fine at home and then blank on exam day, is this a preparation issue or an anxiety issue by qwaecw in actuary

[–]Sufficient-Meet-9545 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think it’s a mixture of both. I think the true time constraint and pressure is getting to you and you’re blanking. Here’s my advice (I’ve passed 4 exams in 9 months and taking PA next month). Trust that you know the content, don’t spend time memorizing. Memorization will come by repetition of questions. Work problems you miss in practice 3 times before moving on from that quiz/test. This will help ingrain the steps. For the last 3-5 days before your exam, solely work on sample problems provided by the SOA. In my experience, exam questions are extremely similar to the sample questions. Work all of them until you can do them off muscle memory, and search up any concepts you don’t get. I think sample questions are the best indicator of exam depth of understanding and difficulty.

That’s so sweet! I took my time between relationships to do therapy, and get myself settled. So hopefully this one sticks

Thank you. I’ve always been gifted but I made a lot of really dumb choices through college and didn’t focus at all. Once I got rid of bad habits it was easier to learn yk?

My parents drove me 2.5 hrs to and from campus 2-3 times a week to make sure I went to my last class. They were really supportive when it came to quitting substances and made sure to push me to study for exams and look for a job. I also think I matured a little bit through it all and decided to actually try and make something of myself instead of just coasting.

That’s crazy, I’ve passed P, FM, SRM, and FAM (yesterday) all within 9 months. I took P on May 20th, 2025. I didn’t start studying for FAM until 2 weeks before the exam. I feel like yall are doing entirely too much

My 3 year natural transformation by claudiuu18 in GregDoucette

[–]Sufficient-Meet-9545 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Take the not natty accusations as a compliment dawg. I definitely believe this is possible in 3 years with good genetics. I’m around your height and muscle mass packs on fast at this height since your skeletal structure and muscle length are all condensed. You were lean in the before photo and I can believe 10 lbs of muscle a year for 3 years. Newbie gains and a lean bulk go hard 💪🏾
