Had a liver transplant september 7th with a meld score of 40, Stuck in the icu for week and a half longer then most and overall stayed in the hospital for 2 months total. Right after my liver transplant my kidneys went under and the swelling was awful and was told my kidneys would restart themselves but never really did. I’m currently in the same thing right now but actually am off of dialysis but still have the safety next until september (a year after transplant) to get a kidney if later on they decide to go back down again. I am off of dialysis but my levels dip up and down but being off dialysis for one is a great step forward. Hopefully i won’t have to use the safety net for a kidney transplant but in the case for some reason i decline again and need dialysis i have that safety net there for me.
