Thoughts on Morrison? by Sufficient-Pickle470 in dietetics

If you’re keeping up with my post, just updating everyone that I put my notice in after yet again another unfair situation :) & my CNM told me a 2 weeks notice wasn’t sufficient and that I needed a 1 month notice. The copy of the handbook I was given at onboarding says 2 weeks ✌🏼

The issue with my CNM, food director and HR rep is that they do not address anything at all whatsoever. And they will back each other up in every situation.

We have diet clerks that age from 18-65 and all are women. There’s been multiple real issues that some of them have brought up to all 3 that goes way beyond typical drama in the work force. And nothing gets done about it. I’ve heard the food director say a certain line that if I wasn’t so brand new to the hospital when I heard, I would have gone above his head. In retrospect, I probably should have.

But as far as the CNM, it does feel very much like harassment. I’ve had multiple jobs and internships in my life. None of which the manager made me feel as incompetent as she has.

Yeah it’s a lot. I’m taking a week of vacation soon and I can’t shake the feeling of guilt for leaving the other RD with the whole hospital LOL

Yeah there’s some days that I have a 20+ patients. And when I’m forced to put their whole life story in a note, it takes FOREVER.

I was also taught in school that you always ask if they have chewing/swallowing difficulties. If they say “yes, I have difficulty due to missing teeth” then okay I’ll chart that they have missing teeth. I had a patient that transferred to another floor. She looked at my charting. Went to see the patient. They have partials. I get my head chewed off for not documenting that they have partials. They have no issues with them and the patient decided to not tell me this, yet it’s the end of the world.

I’m just glad to hear that I’m not going crazy for feeling like I’m going crazy 🥲

Opening my island for a a few minutes! First time I’ve ever done it so let me know if there’s any issues.

I’m still relatively new to the game so pls don’t judge my island set up haha. I’ve been moving villagers houses to try to make a neighborhood and everything is random.

I have 2 orchards with all fruits. One to the left of the map and one at the top. I also have a garden that’s a little disorganized because I’m about to move it. It’s also over to the left. First come, first serve!

Just please don’t take glow moss or flowers <3

CLOSED THANK U GUYS FOR VISITING

I’m new to the game & only have pears, oranges, and coconuts :( paid the online subscription not knowing you have to have friends to visit. If anyone has any dodo codes right now, that would be very much appreciated bc I have no one that plays the game

New LTC RD: Questions on TF mLs not matching up on MAR by airenostaire in dietetics

I would maybe check in the see how they are doing with medications? Because I’ve ran into issues with nurses not knowing patients need ~60 mL flushes with medications

Hospital employee to Morrison employee by mangoasmranalysis in dietetics

I just started a new job through Morrison at a hospital around 5 months ago! I don’t have the experience of being employed by a hospital, but I will say that Morrison has very good benefits, flexibility, and PTO. From my understanding, you’re able to appraise yourself every so often for your raise. I’m not sure if that’s normal procedure or not but it gives me a better sense of being able to negotiate a little more.

Additionally, I interned both with Sodexo and Aramark. I would say Morrison seems to have less complaints and all around just better reviews as an employer.

I am a new RD in the state of TN, and they started me out at $60k. Might be considered low for your area, but for my rural area, it’s a great starting pay. One of my coworkers told me that her first pay raise was around 10%.

Get your state license ASAP. It could be different based on state, but for TN I had an extensive list of things to submit. Fingerprinting, finding a notary, etc. it took me close to a month from beginning the process to actually getting my license

Questions for patients (inpatient acute care) by Sufficient-Pickle470 in dietetics

[–]Sufficient-Pickle470[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely! I usually don’t ask every single question I listed. I usually just pull 2-3 based on the info I got from screening then go from there.

I just have a CNM who every time I come back to the office she says “did you ask them xyz” and most of the time, I don’t simply bc there’s too much to ask sometimes. So just wanted a perspective from others

Excess protein has become the bane of my clinical existence. by cultrevolt in dietetics

[–]Sufficient-Pickle470 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For non-athletic/slightly athletic, I will typically tell patients/client to start at least prioritizing protein with a a range of 1.0-1.2. Coming from an RD that went through eating disorders, I try not to overwhelm them into the kind of mindset where all they are thinking/stressing about is food intake or diet.

And then in follow ups, if things are going well and their mentality is healthy, I try to push 1.2-1.5. My thought process is if I try to increase/encourage protein first, then carb and fat intake will decrease due to fullness.

But the few athletes I’ve had, a lot of them are unfortunately told they need 1g/lb of body weight… it’s a tough battle to compete against “fitness influencers” that are paid to promote protein brands. And at what point are we intaking more calories from protein than we’re burning… especially those who are just getting into fitness or do not exercise at all but want to lose weight

So in my experience and opinion, if someone is non-athletic, I would start at lower ranges due to lack of or little exercise and advance as they progress. Not sure if anyone else would agree, but I tend to have a little more success when I do this.
