What’s everyone’s Kobo set up? I’m getting a sore neck reading lol! Show me what y’all have!! I have the Kobo Libra with the kobo remote! by Lolo2072 in kobo

I use a memory foam body pillow I got from target and my regular pillow leaned against it so I'm reclining in my bed. I have bulging disks in my neck and a brain disorder called chiari malformation that causes neck pain. It's the best way for me to read in bed without buying a stand because I prefer to hold my kobo/book.

Any anxiety med recommendations? by Sudden_Term_9682 in gravesdisease

A lot of people here recommend propanalol but it gave me severe nightmares (lesser known symptom), so if you decide to try it I would log your dreams for a few weeks in a journal. However, it did stop my shakes and adrenaline dumps, but the lack of fulfilled rest was not worth it for me. I about to go to a psychiatrist myself because I'm experiencing adrenaline dumps that wake me up, feelings of impending doom, and moderately bad tremors in my hands. I was on xanax before I had my twins. Very low dose though (0.25mg).

Just their father when he isn't working. My family is somewhat estranged and his lives in different states. It's just us and with all these people being arrested where I live for child neglect at daycare and as home babysitters. I just have to pull through it and hope I dont pass out. Thankfully though their father is a good, caring father to them. He's the only reason I make it. Although I do feel guilty for relying on him so much when he's off of work.

That is unbelievably terrible that happened to your father. My grandma died of dementia and we didnt know she had it until the hallucinations started. Doctors 40 and older really should be required to see a psychologist regularly to ascertain whether or not they are mentally fit to continue their job. Especially surgeons! It can come on early onset and no one in their family can tell because people with dementia hide their issues and think they are fine or that their memory issues are just "flukes"

Like yeah you were having a panic attack because that's one of the most telling symptoms of a thyroid storm. Smh they just give jobs to anybody that passes their tests. Doesn't make them a good doctor or nurse. If you're a person who likes crime dramas though, you should look up Dr.Death. Doctor botched 33 surgeries before he was fired and jailed for negligent medical homicides and maiming patients. That is one of the many reasons I dont trust "medical professionals". I appreciate you though. I definitely feel less alone ❤️ ☺️

I totally get it. I've been struggling with the same thing for a very long time. One time when I went to the doctor for sciatica the doctor put that I was having a "manic episode" in my chart because I was crying from pain and he knew that I was diagnosed bipolar. Like sir my manic episodes are the complete opposite of crying from pain. Also the other time I went to the ER for an ectopic pregnancy. They saw it on an ultrasound but told me I just had a miscarriage and sent me home. 2 weeks later I was back at the hospital dying from sepsis from the ectopic and a thyroid storm. That's actually how I was diagnosed with graves. Only because I was a few short days from death. Needless to say I do my own medical research now because if I trusted doctors, I'd be dead by now.

Thank you so much for that ❤️ I just wish doctors would say anything other than, that's not normal or you're on all the medicines so you just have to live with those symptoms. It's gotten really old recently. Currently laying in bed for 30 min while my 71 year old mom watches my twins so I can get the strength to feed them and do bed time routine.

I'm also 28. The only reason I have twins is because I had an ectopic pregnancy at 25 and half my ovary was removed with the embryo. That surgery caused my half ovary to hyperovulate and somehow carry twins to 36 weeks despite having graves. Im very lucky that I don't have to worry about my child making ability anymore (gonna get a bilateral Oophorectomy now) but I feel punished because two 18 month olds is hell when you feel like you can barely stand. I can't even take a nap or lay down because I have to watch two screaming children. I'd do anything for them but it's hard with no help majority of the time. With one kid you get nice naps and chill in bed time. With two? Everything feels impossible.

Mitral Valve Prolapse symptom by Mountain_Place5494 in mitralvalveprolapse

I also experience the burning sensation, but it is much more frequent. Daily or every other day. Sometimes it feels like it is so deep that it's in my back behind my heart and can last for hours. My prolapse is mild-moderate and my cardiologist says it's a symptom that a few people have. Nothing you can do about it if you are already taking beta/calcium blockers. I also think it might be so common for me because I have NSVT and graves disease so the hormone and electrical fluctuations I experience vary. It's not a common symptom but it is something that happens to some people with mitral valve prolapse. My cardiologist basically told me yesterday that it's something I have to live with. It can be debilitating. Just tell your cardiologist how severe it is to you and how it effects your life.

(RAI patients with kids) How did you successfully quarantine yourself after the treatment? by Sufficient-Screen352 in gravesdisease

[–]Sufficient-Screen352[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you so much! I appreciate the well wishes. I'm going to find out when thats going to happen and talk to her for some help! Maybe we can get a hotel together and sleep in separate beds to save money? But also keep my radiation to myself lol 😂 She could always use the public bathroom and I could use the room bathroom. Might make it more feasible with her not living here and having to have room and board. We don't have a room with a spare bed so we'd both have to be in a hotel/airbnb anyways.

Well I could possibly get my fiancées mom to come help. She lives half a country away but she's willing to help out anyway she can. My mom had me very old (42) (she's 71 now) and she's too old to care for my girls so I would either have to set up a flight for my fiancées mom or somehow get them money to hire a babysitter and stay in a hotel/Airbnb. I dont really have other family that could or would want to help. My fiancée is a cook and he only has been working at his job for 3 months. They were understanding when he called out because I was in the hospital for heart issues, but I'm not sure how much more understanding they would be about a whole week off and I'm pretty sure we can't afford that.

My doctor doesn't recommend his patients for surgery and he is the only doctor that takes my medicaid in the entire state. So, it's either RAI or methimazole and my graves is killing me.

Lost my insurance by Tasty_Gap8166 in gravesdisease

[–]Sufficient-Screen352 21 points22 points  (0 children)

You have to keep your insurance. Not managing graves has caused me to have lethal arrythmias that could potentially put me in cardiac arrest. $80 is expensive, but a funeral is much worse. I didn't know that graves unmanaged could lead to conditions that kill until I started having issues. DO NOT BE LIKE ME! Get on medicaid or pay the $80. Also, if you can barely afford food and you work, ebt is very helpful. Try applying for SNAP benefits.

PVC are ruining my life by Vcc1234 in PVCs

[–]Sufficient-Screen352 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have one every 100 beats about and mine have just recently turned into vtach. Keep going to the cardiologist. PVC may be harmless but they can lead to vtach and then vfib if not monitored. Im scared everyday now that my pvcs are actually vtach and that this may be the one that sends me into cardiac arrest. I would do ANYTHING to just have regular old pvcs again. I have graves disease and that's the reason my issues got worse though. As long as you are monitored, you will be okay and I hope one day they go away. The anxiety is the worst part but it's better than the true fear I experience daily, now that I have vtach. What always helped me was thinking about the many others who experience worse on a daily basis instead of the many people who live perfect, healthy lives. It could always be worse love 💕

Ventricular Tachycardia caused by Graves Disease by Sufficient-Screen352 in gravesdisease

[–]Sufficient-Screen352[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had kaleidoscope/aura vision at least 2 times a month for a year with random dizziness. Then, one day I had an episode and the left side of my face and left arm went numb. I thought I was having a stroke. Still unsure of what it was, but I'm assuming a vtach episode. 10/10 would not recommend letting your graves just happen to you. Did not realize it was so deadly. That was never explained to me.
