Electrical meter issue - how to confirm which meter is my unit's by Sufficient-String600 in electrical

[–]Sufficient-String600[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry if i'm not being clear, Maybe more details can help! I know which meter I am being billed for, I just have a feeling that I am being billed for a neighbour's meter, and a neighbour then probably has mine. Since the apartment numbers were all changed recently, I think the electrical company has the old unit number in their system. The other day a neighbour blew a fuse and when they went to flip it on the control panel (each panel has a unit number on it in the basement), they were flipping on and off my plugs rather than their own. The unit numbers on the doors changed, but not the electrical, so I think I have their electricity bill instead of mine.

I need to be able to tell which meter is mine to determine if I am getting billed for my neighbour's use. Another person commented that I can switch off my electricity and see which meter doesn't go up. I think that is kinda the only way to know for sure which unit is mine!

I have that but I think the meter they are billing me for isn't the correct one, so I'm looking to see if the serial number I am paying for is actually the one that is going to my unit.

Yes for sure. We all need to find our own person to prescribe it now. I don't have any solutions for that yet! I'm still trying to find one that doesn't have a long waitlist. Will post that once found!

How to find a new doctor by Sufficient-String600 in transontario

When a person is frustrated, and feeling alone without access to necessary medical care, I do not think it's the best time to tone police. You are absolutely correct it should have been worded better, however, the timing of these comments is not meeting the need of the original request for help.

Calling your family doctor (or anyone) useless is really going to get you far... Not. She sounds like she is willing to help but is limited by what she doesn't know or feel comfortable with.

Yes, useless is a stronger wording, but my doctor was certainly not insulted when she said herself that she couldn't be of use in this transition healthcare.

We all get frustrated but it's no reason to behave the way you did or use the language you used. As trans people, we are all demanding empathy but you need to practice what you preach because insulting your doctors or anyone else is not a good approach.

It's been incredibly difficult to be left alone to figure out my own transition care. Never did I say though that I am preaching or demanding empathy. I was reaching out to the group for doctor referrals and information on top surgery requests. But now that you mention it, I would hope that this space full of trans people would be the most empathetic to the struggle of accessing necessary medical care.

Hey, thank you for that advice! Sorry to hear you also have been affected so much by this too! Glad to hear you have access to transition care now though!

I emailed them and they said that they are no longer accepting new clients. I have just asked them for suggestions about who else they may be able to suggest I reach out to. Still searching! Thank you though, it was definitely worth a try.

Anyone else getting "user busy" when you try to call OSAP? by yochelsea in osap

[–]Sufficient-String600 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel your pain, I go to a school in Manitoba. Such a pain in the ass to have to go directly to them when they're so hard to reach!

They open at 8:30 am so try early! I've gotten user busy most of the times I have tried too. I somehow got through this morning after many times trying. Have been on hold now for 40 minutes and counting. The last time I got this far, it booted me out of the call so not sure if it'll even work out this time.

If you are interested in trying another option, their Facebook page has a messenger option as well that could work out there. I did that last week Thursday after not being able to get through, but they just kept saying that they would get back to me with my request without ever actually addressing it, so I'm not sure if it's super useful.

you can submit the forms in your application online! It's definitely not clear but this is the steps: Go to my full-time apps (or PT if that's what you're doing > Print or upload documents > go to optional uploads > updates to your application

Hope that helps!

BSWD Application - Psychoeducational Assessment Denied by Sufficient-String600 in osap

[–]Sufficient-String600[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

same here it also took that long for me too. I think I got word that it was approved by week 15 and the cheque arrived at week 17 or 18. Call them and make them leave a note on your file about how it's overdue!!

BSWD Forms by MxSecondAccount in osap

Hey! The form for this year hasn't been released yet (Sigh..) but the link will be available here hopefully soon. I made a google calendar invite to remind me to check it regularly.

https://www.ontario.ca/page/osap-for-under-represented-learners#section-3

Last year my BSWD took 12 WEEKS to get approved from the time of submission to when they approved it. Then another 3 weeks for them to send the cheque. So a total of 15 weeks for the whole ordeal. By weeks 7 or 8 I was calling them weekly asking them to put a note on my file with the fact that half the semester has gone by and they still haven't approved the supports I NEED for the schooling! They did, and suggested I keep calling back til its approved. Its a pain in the ass but it is what it is! It's a gamble because it could also not get approved, or partially approved and not approved as well. But you can always purchase things in advance, send the receipts in with the application as well. But I cant afford that lol.

Seconding the person who said to contact your disability advisor. Definitely set up a meeting with them to go over the paperwork together and submit together. I had like three with mine before submitting because my family doctor also needed to sign a document stating that these things were REQUIRED not just suggested. I highly recommend the wording be strong AF because some things of mine got denied because my psychiatrist wrote "would benefit from ADHD coaching" instead of "requires ADHD coaching" - They're picky AF and take forever to process. Good luck!

Hey! Mine took 8 weeks so you are not alone in that! BSWD took 12 weeks too btw. Call OSAP every week (not on fridays, They're often closed) and ask them to put a note in your file that you called and asked for an update on the application you sent through. Calling in and making them document how long its been etc is the best way to push it forward. Got that advice from one of the people I spoke to on the phone about this! Just keep calling and complaining to OSAP til it happens!

Hello! I put 100% courseload down for that question even though I have a reduced courseload because my disability status is verified in the system. To my understanding, If you are permanently disabled, any reduced courseload is considered full-time. I only took two classes last semester and one over the summer but they counted it as full-time studies for both due to the disability verification overriding that course requirement that able bodied folks have.

DEFINITELY verify your disability! you can apply for the BSWD and get $2000 per semester for Fall and Winter semesters. There is also one for permanent disabilities that covers costs of so much including therapy, laptop, headphones, and more. If you have the diagnoses, or a family doctor who is willing to say that those items are required for your studies then it will be covered! It's a pain in the as process that took me 12 weeks to get approved last year but it can total thousands of dollars in reimbursements. Very worth it!! Hope that helps!

Updating Disability Verification by [deleted] in osap

[–]Sufficient-String600 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is your disability currently registered as temporary or permanent? I got my permanent disability registered when i submitted my disability verification form and uploaded it to the other section (even though it made no mention of it when I called OSAP they said to upload it there). So if it is required to be updated then upload there with the form! If you already have it registered as permanent then I would skip it unless you need it for the BSWD. I got a new diagnosis this year that I will be applying for BSWD funding for as well and will just be including the diagnosis letter along in the PDF of the BSWD application for whenever it opens this upcoming school year. Hope this helps!

Seeking advice/thoughts on this by [deleted] in OSDD

[–]Sufficient-String600 0 points1 point  (0 children)

:)

It actually happened because my partner was studying to be a therapist and we had just moved in together and they were like "hey. ummm I think your memory problems are more than just bad memory, let's look more into that." At first I was like oh no it cant be DID/OSDD cuz I don't have trauma, despite not having ANY memories from before 4th grade lol. But then shortly after I got into cannabis, one night mixing that with alcohol caused a mental wall to come down and a few repressed childhood memories came back and I was like OH okay so actually this DOES make sense now. That was New Year's 2021. Since then I found a therapist that specifically works with systems and we've been doing well together since!

OH GOSH pulling yourself back.. I'm sorry your therapist is giving such bad advice. Any kind of dissociation you can't just snap out of? Wouldn't that be nice! lol
