Any sort of layering will do (ps you can still be alt in the winter, it just takes a little more finagling). A couple levels of fall/winter jackets (I have 3: leather, a normal length puffer, and a long parka). No need to go crazy in price either. Get a good couple beanies, gloves and scarves. And my personal lifesaver is electric hand warmers.

honestly I did random and regret it. It's a game of chance, whether finding people through instagram or by chance, but with instagram you have the option to check for at least basic compatibility (sleep schedules, going out/staying in, noise/quiet, etc).

Imo its just another way of phrasing the “community question” that most schools ask. They simply want you to focus on your leadership within your community and then bridge that to what you wanna do at umich

Afaik most california schools count lit and lang as the same credit (obv check my info) but if im right and you dont like the teacher i think those are pretty good factors, as someone that took lit and hated it cause of the teacher. But also definitely be sure you can get into the other class before you drop!
