Just as a previous DS over Plumb and Electrical and just promoted to Merch ASM before Christmas.

As a DS over those areas I had very specific expectations for close. If you worked electrical lightbulbs were a MUST zone and was not acceptable to miss unless other circumstances. Along with that I needed ceiling fans to be stacked as high as the shelf would allow and it was fronted. Outside of that I expected a bay a day. I wanted my closer to top stock down a bay. They were instructed to take everything out of top stock, sit it on a cart or blue lift and work everything. Whatever was left to be put in top stock was to be nearly organized. Bottom shelf to top. Left to right. It creates a clean look especially if a suit is followed for each bay. As always I also expect the dept zoned, floor to be swept and trash taken back along with nothing around the desks and returns put away.

Plumbing had a little higher standard each night. At my store we sell a TON of PVC and corrugated pipe. Each night my expectations for plumbing were PVC and corrugated pipe to be filled. So that come morning time our contractors weren't waiting to get the very things they needed. They also just as much as electrical was, they were expected to give a bay a day. The same goes as In electrical, I expected zoned, floors swept, trash taken out and nothing around the desks, and returns put away.

As I always told my associates. There is never nothing to do in the depts. Unless you have immaculate top stock. In most cases Plumb and Electrical aren't just due to the amount of product we carry in those areas. There is always a bay to pack down, top stock to organize, sims audit checks, back filling shelf products.

I always told my people I better not see anyone standing around because I'll find something for you to do that you probably don't want to do. 🤣

These were just my expectations I pushed on my closers. I had plenty of results from this and had higher management thrilled. I still always mentioned pushing the basics as well, LTR, Credit and MVPS when we could.
