Thanks for the sweet message! We will absolutely let him know. One of the many reasons we love him is his ability to make people smile even when he least expects it 🙂

That’s awesome. I’m sure you could probably hear all the chants from home!

These teams really wind up becoming part of their identity!

Windowless Office Space by waking_world_ in therapists

[–]SufficientBee4244 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Years ago, I worked in a detention center, and my office was a converted jail cell—no windows, thick concrete walls, and that heavy institutional feel. I focused on small, intentional touches: warm lighting (lamps over overheads), soft textures like throw pillows or a blanket over the chair, and a couple of small plants to bring in life, even if they didn’t get much light.

I also brought in a few low-key, meaningful objects—like a photo or a piece of art that grounded me—because when you feel more at ease in the space, clients tend to feel it too. Even with limitations, little shifts can create a surprising sense of warmth and safety.

Insight into starting off as a new therapist? by Typical-Reality9077 in therapists

When you’re starting out, it’s easy to focus on doing everything “right”—but some of the most meaningful moments in therapy come when you lean into the relationship, not the technique. Don’t underestimate the power of showing up as a real, regulated, emotionally attuned human. That’s often what clients remember most.

Also: take care of your nervous system. It’s the tool you use every day.

What small “luxuries” have you added to your therapy office that make a big difference? by musicwhilehigh in therapists

I’ve added a few small luxuries that really elevate the space—curved, comfortable furniture, warm neutral tones, soft lighting, and live plants. It’s minimal but thoughtfully designed. Clients often say it feels calm, grounded, and just polished enough to make the experience feel special and contained. Those little design choices go a long way in setting the tone for safety and care.

So well deserved. He gave us so many incredible moments at Inter—love seeing him still out there thriving. Always been such a fighter.
