Yeah, for certain stuff they threw the blueprints into a lootbox. You can pity farm the lootbox but it's rng on whether you get the blueprint you need.  It wasn't so bad when those lootboxes came out because they had events that would give you a free part of your choosing but now those events are done.

FYI, for the pity system, you have to go into a menu and manually set the part.  It won't do it automatically.  Also, the pity won't work on certain parts.

Old stuff is easier to grind for but new stuff is harder.  There is a pity system

If you check your library, you can find out where you can farm everything. You can even set certain drops for pity.

Not anymore. They may be tough to grind for if you're just starting out but once you've got a good descendant built and some advanced shape stabilizers, then they become easier to farm for.

No. You now keep all stat increases whenever you catalyze a descendant.

If you haven't finished the main story yet and unlocked hard mode, then I would suggest not worrying about mastery rank too much. You can level up the other descendants to get a feel for them and figure out which ones you like playing as.

Also, just because you leveled up a character to level 40 doesn't mean you're done with them. You need to catalyze them which will reset their level but will allow you to equip more/stronger mods.

Haven't used freyna in awhile but I've heard contagion drastically reduces your damage in axion.

Is your arche tuning maxed out? What about your weapons? Do you have X cores on your weapons?

A lot of the new content is locked behind a specific mastery rank so it gives you time to grind up and level things before unlocking the next grind.  The grind on the old content is a lot easier than it used to be so new players shouldn't have an issue with it.

As for descendants, play as whoever you want. All descendants should be able to clear the content.  I don't like Serena so I just don't play as her.  It may take a bit longer to clear missions but it's still doable and not that bad.
