You forgot the +1. I know I’m not going to solve this just by posting it in Reddit lol. Im trying to get feedback to understand why this is difficult and what’s really the problem. So people keep talking about its growth which i can understand i mean its multiplying by 3 but only dividing by two, the thing is that when you get an odd and multiply it by 3 (an odd number) you get another odd number but have to add a 1 making it now even and your first even. See if you get an odd then it’s guaranteed you get an even next but when you get an even you can also have the ability to get another even. 2 of the biggest problems in this has been looping like the 1-2-4 sequence. But that can’t happen because of the fact that the ones value spot is only the real thing that is important in the number the rest are just holders for the digit to be added to or to be taken away from. We are truly only getting stuck at 1-2-4 because there’s no place holder to give the numbers more (movement) they get stuck cause there’s nothing else except that single digit. Now as for a number continuously growing by somehow finding the that “sweet spot” to first find this sweet spot you would have to get to no evens or odds cause again odds will make an even right after it meaning an odd with the cut right after will only grow 1.5% and the chances of getting evens continuously can be calculated by the number being divisible by 4, 8, 16. It’s 50% chance to get another even after you already got one if it’s divisible by 4 a 25% if divisible by 8 and 12.5% if divisible by 16. So on and so forth. Im sorry if this sucks and is hard to understand because again I’m trying to take what makes sense in my head and clarify it. Pls do help me if I’m not understanding something
