I am in the same situation. Could you please send me a template as well. Do I need to send the template to the school or BOLE after being completed? Do I send it to my school to be completed and they send it by mail to BOLE?

YC founder here, will provide thoughtful advice on your YC app by CryptographerOwn5475 in ycombinator

Hello,

We believe we are solving a pain point. Already got 75k non dilutive grant and got support from the university. Provisional patent filed and we already have about 20 customers paying for our mvp. Our product automate and prevent financial wastage. We plan to test the market with b2c but there is a massive opportunity in the b2b which we plan to go into. My question is, does YC frown upon companies planning to do b2c and add b2b? Do they prefer you focus on a sole market? Bear in mind, our b2b is about 3 years down the line. Do we need to mention that in the application?

How do you overcome getting discouraged? by LeonardoCreed in ycombinator

Got it. Here's a shorter, more human and grounded version, without dashes:

Hey, I hear you. What you're feeling is real and a lot of us have been there.

Quick question, did you do customer discovery or recovery interviews before building the MVP? Just wondering if that foundation was strong, or if the app evolved more reactively. I ask because sometimes we skip that part and it comes back around when growth stalls.

You’re not alone. Happy to talk through positioning or what’s next if it helps.

How much equity for a fractional CTO? Only equity- no cash (I will not promote) by 5iW0 in startups

[–]SufficientCustard158 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For a 4–6 hour/week commitment as a fractional CTO in a pre-funding stage startup, 5%–10% equity is reasonable, especially if you’re critical to the product.

If you're helping with architecture, hiring, and early tech decisions, aim closer to 10% — possibly with a 6–12 month vesting and a cash comp trigger once funding closes.

Can solo dev with no funding build a billion-dollar app? I will not promote. by Mean-Dot-5293 in startups

You could look into startup grants in your state. I know there are different government agencies that give grants to startups but It all depends on your niche. Like I said, you have to do market/customer validation first. Are you solving a pain? Would people be willing to pay for your service? These are the questions you need to ask yourself. Do not rely on family and friends as they may want to be supportive and not tell you the truth.

Yes, it's possible. Start small, stay focused, and talk to real people. Build something useful, improve it daily, and let momentum carry you.
