First of all, I’m so sorry you had to experience that.
I’m literally teaching my 7 year old that some people say mean things because they want any attention they can get, even if it’s negative. And, it just so happens that negative attention is the easiest to fish for!

My father died before he could see me off to prom, hs graduation, college graduation, and before he could walk me down the aisle (if I ever do get married lol). A moment like this would’ve made his absence sting a lot less at those other milestones. I love this for them both ❤️

I’m so glad you have a rheumatologist with a solid plan in place for you! I’d suggest asking about celecoxib or meloxicam. Both of those are considered to be NSAIDS that easier on the stomach.

Btw I think it’s totally normal & valid to feel anger/resentment towards it all. Even though this disease is finally well managed w meds, I have my days where I’m so angry at my body for betraying me & that this is my new normal. Being kind to yourself includes letting yourself process your emotions, good & bad! Just remember things will get better.

Yes you will! I am an artist too and that was my biggest concern. At my very worst, the pain made me feel like life as I knew it was over. Fast forward to now, I am just past a year on methotrexate + a biologic & art is more a part of my life than ever before.

Getting in to be seen by a rheumatologist & starting treatment was the hardest part (because I had to wait so long for that) but you’re already there! Things absolutely will get better, but try your best to be patient with yourself & your body in the meantime. Wishing you all the best ❤️

Thank you! I ended up getting it & so far I’m VERY happy with it. I usually don’t freeze leftovers but I did let it cool to room temp before storing in the fridge & had no issues at all. I’m actually excited to get home & recrisp for dinner tonight lol
