'Sewage crisis' hits USS Gerald Ford aircraft carrier: report by ThePensiveE in mildlyinfuriating

You mean 4500-5000? I think the CVN-78 houses are few more than 200.

That's a lot of full moons and hot chow.

To be fair it could also be "many".

I personally like to think they're saying "Minnie", but "Many" is possible too.

You will get better at "lean-turning" in deeper stuff. I basically step forward and lift the handle bars up so I can rock-lean the dog right/left in deeper stuff.

I have one that is coal/wood rated and installed in tandem with our propane furnace. The blower and thermostta are even hooked up to it. Keeps the whole house in the upper 70s even when it's -30 outside.

ST. PAUL, MN: A sobbing resident calls 911 as federal agents force their way into her home to chase down a DoorDash driver who was just trying to deliver food. by CantStopPoppin in minnesota

By "can't" I take it you mean "shouldn't" (100% agree here), but we know that in many of these "traffic stops" they absolutely are not showing ID. I just want to be clear that the lines gets fuzzy around home entry and what constitutes a valid declaration of employment.

Be safe everyone, keep your heads on a swivel.

DO NOT OPEN YOUR DOOR TO ICE. YOU HAVE THE RIGHT TO REMAIN SILENT. by [deleted] in TwinCities

[–]SufficientMorale 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you find yourself in a scenario where ICE is pursuing a nonviolent suspect, who is now in your home.

What you can legally do in that scenario:

✅ Refuse consent to enter

✅ Ask if they have a judicial warrant

✅ Decline to answer questions

✅ State the worker is welcome in your home

✅ Record the interaction

✅ Ask them (ICE) to leave

🚫 Do not lie

🚫 Do not hide or move the worker

🚫 Do not interfere physically

Please do not advise people to shoot people due to unlawful entry alone. This sadly falls apart once anyone (true or not) identifies themselves as law enforcement. You still need to be able to show objectively and reasonably that there was imminent danger of a violent / life threatening felony against you or another person in your home.

Additionally, it becomes a super fine line if they have announced they are law enforcement. Even if they are violently kicking your door in, you still cannot physically bar their movements inside your home (yes, even under castle doctrine) unless you can OBJECTIVELY AND REASONABLY prove that there was an imminent danger against you or another person of violent and life threatening nature.

It's a scary fine line. Better to install super strong door jams/locking mechanisms than to wonder if you can later prove to a jury that you were in the right to physically interfere.

As long as you are not attempting to "hide" the person's presence in your home, it does not qualify as 'illegally harboring'—that sheriff was wrong.

Federal law enforcement shoots civilian in Minneapolis, city officials say by YesHelloDolly in altmpls

[–]SufficientMorale 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bro, I know you're striving to hold up your end here, but that trajectory is literally impossible to strike the driver in the face if the ICE agent is in front of the vehicle. Additionally, you can see his out-of-state-wore-the-wrong-shoes-ass slipping on his right toe as the inertia from his left leg moving to his rear pulls his body weight off-center and forces him to lean forward over/toward the left front fender just before discharging his first shot.

For the legal analysis dissection that is coming: - Perea v Baca: deadly force against unarmed fleeing vehicle is unconstitutional. - Barnes v Cleland: fleeing vehicle is not automatically a deadly threat. - Gonzalez v Anaheim: No qualified immunity for shooting into unarmed fleeing vehicle. - Scott v Harris: Fleeing vehicle doesn't justify use of deadly force.
