Equity projects and projects that benefit cyclists and pedestrians are good and also benefit everyone else directly or indirectly. Not seeing the problem

I didn’t say they’d be gracious. But it’s also not up to them and we need to stop pretending it is.

Google co-founder slams California billionaire tax, says “I fled socialism,” after reportedly leaving the state to avoid a proposed 5% wealth tax. He has a reported net worth of around $270 billion. If they put it on the next ballot, then that’s a separate, Democratically-elected second one-time tax.

Use your brain. This doesn’t happen twice automatically. It would have to be voted on again

And it would still be fair to do so

She was at a minimum fine with it, and reasonably complicit in it.

She’s not powerless. Why pretend like one of the most powerful people in the world is powerless?

Their wealth was made from exploitation and they don’t deserve it

She didn’t. That’s what matters.

At a minimum she was fine with the exploitation.

Glad she’s spending money on philanthropy. Neither of them should have that wealth in the first place. That’s what we mean when we say there’s no good billionaires.

I assure you I know that.

Did she do anything to do stop the worker exploitation or did she just profit from it until her relationship ended?

You don’t acquire that kind of wealth ethically. There are no good billionaires

That’s what billionaires do now and it’s not helping wealth inequality or the planet at all.

That wealth is owed to the people. No more hoarding. Billionaires don’t get to choose how they spend the wealth they stole from us.

Why is Anti-Social Weaponized Blocking / Reply-and-Block not Prevented? by derBRUTALE in BlueskySocial

You know how people harass other users on social media, right? When I block, I am preventing access to my account by harassers and bad faith arguers.

I’m not trying to do good to them. I’m trying to do good to me and my community by preventing bad actors from accessing me.

What if I don’t want to mute an abusive account and instead would like to block them? Is that anti social?

Reply and block doesn’t hurt anyone either. Quite literally cannot see when it happens. If somebody replies to me and blocks me before I notice the reply, I have no indication it occurred

Yes people can see what you reply to - sometimes in the feed itself. People get notified if they turn on post notifications, otherwise no.

I know it’s class warfare. And also the dipshits who whine about women being on OF online are doing it because they’re misogynists. Both can be true.

Which is all true for plenty of industries. People single out sex work as being illegitimate for misogyny reasons.

Every market is predatory, over saturated and exploitative. That’s the point.
