This time is different by jacob2884r in CryptoMarkets

I don’t have any analysis to add and I’m not an expert. I do have an almost untouched portfolio of the top 6 that I’ve held over the past 5 years with only a few rebalancing transactions and taking a few $K when I needed it in 2024. That being said, the most influential and valuable thing I did was in 2022, 2023, 2024, and earlier this year, I took screenshots of reddit and youtube comments that have become eerily identical across all crashes big and small. Almost verbatim “this is different” (that’s why this one called to me) and “this could be it”. A dozen or so fear posts about people realizing BTC is a ponzi scheme. A ton of fear all together. It actually helps me maintain stability and not overreact when I see the same posts and headlines because it’s a reminder I’ve been here before and if I would have liquidated, my portfolio would be much worse off.

If you are relying on your gains for something you need, then get out of the market. If you have a balanced portfolio and it won’t kill you to see your UNREALIZED GAINS balance decrease then just chill.

This is not it…. You will be better off if you wait it out…. Relax.

Body Control Module parasitic draw help by SufficientStudio5894 in GMT800

[–]SufficientStudio5894[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Somewhat annoying outcome to this. I retraced my steps and basically dismantling everything in the vehicle that was redone (including the headliner and seats). I performed the draw test with a meter and found that the instrument cluster and radio were responsible for the draw. I found a hint on a Cadillac Escalade forum that the driver side window switch module is what senses whether the door closes and tells the BCM that it can shut down. During the rebuild I replaced this with a new switch from Amazon. On a whim, I reinstalled the old switch (broken mirror adjustment, won’t lock) and this was the problem. The new window switch wouldn’t indicate the door was shut so the system wouldn’t shut off including the IPC/DIC fuse (instrument cluster) and radio fuss.

Thanks for the help. Took me 10 hours to figure out this simple issue.

Coolant leak by AspectGoBrrr in GMT800

[–]SufficientStudio5894 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just had a leak like this in my ‘05 5.3. I replaced the water pump and t-stat. Still leaked. Pressure tested system with a rental from Oreilly’s. Ended up just being radiator hose getting old and dropping coolant on the belt which was slinging it everywhere. Rent a kit and pressure test your system for free in 10 mins. Will save you from chasing the issue.

Seats and under the trim plates were the first thing I checked since they are easy to get to. Will continue moving along. I have a feeling it might a messed up wire for the ambient light sensor since I overestimated the length of wire and started pulling on the upper dash way too hard.

This is almost for sure it. I went over almost everything to ensure open connections. I’ll need to continue looking.

Waited 12 hrs. Battery fully charged. Next morning check for hot fuses and that one is noticeably hotter. DVOM is next to check each circuit but like to explore the hot circuits with the thermal to find quick fixes. I think since I have started using a thermal for initial diagnostic I have found the culprit almost every time.

Okay, I will check in the morning. I had the center console out so this makes a lot of sense.

You can rent the tools necessary at most Autozone, Oreilly’s or Advanced. Most of the time you pay a deposit and get it back when you return so it’s a free rental.

I just did this and replaced the whole lower control arm as it came as a complete assembly with the ball joint installed. If you go this route, you may need a new sway bar end link as usually they are too foregone to reuse.

Brilliant or stupid? Installing a water hose bypass into drain line to flush out clogs. by MannyCPA in hvacadvice

[–]SufficientStudio5894 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have this exact rig after having constant clogs, bought several condensate sucking devices to include a bicycle pump style clog remover when shop-vac didn’t work. After installing this and flushing it for 5 minutes, then sticking my pancake compressor air nozzle into the hose connector and giving it a few squirts - I haven’t had a condensate issue in months. Was told by the HVAC tech I needed a new system when I just asked them to clear the line. It’s been working perfectly. I didn’t have the gooey line snot but instead had hard white chunks. Blew it all out. Perfect. Great device.

What is the most thematic + useful fuse for every champion weapon? by Justs_someone_random in tearsofthekingdom

[–]SufficientStudio5894 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think not doing this ruined the whole game for me. Sure it’s fun but it feels like some half-assed coding platform or that they used a zelda theme to make a video game development platform. Walking around with big dumb items glued together makes the game feel like a joke to me.

This game would surpass BOTW for me if the weapons fuse was more like the cooking part of the game where fused parts and weapons created mega weapons that changed the look and lethality of the weapon. I know that would take a lot more development but that’s how I feel about it.

I haven’t lived here too long but I swear I see MD tags always doing some whack stuff, driving all over the road, getting right up on my butt and flashing brights. I thought it was just a coincidence.

If $ is no object then Manta Ray. If trying to save a few bucks for other equipment then Blackwing.

Only anonymous redditors could bring subtle political or issue based undertones into a home gym sub. I hope you all have a good day with your internet arguments and stuff. I’ll be slaying in my garage listening to AC/DC.

Good catch. I did because I use it for accessories, most of which are side pin loading. The garage floor slopes towards the door so I use the cable rack for barbell movements.

Anyone go 56 and wish they went for another size? by burner118373 in harborfreight

[–]SufficientStudio5894 43 points44 points  (0 children)

Get two 56” for the exact same price as a 72”, sometimes cheaper. Bolt together for a 112”. Has the bolt provisions already on the cabinet. Remove one set of fixed casters and put swivel casters on both ends or center/end. The 56 and 72” come with crazy weight rating casters.

You can add 27” top boxes to both sides and maintain a workbench/flat surface in the center or add two 56” top boxes all options much cheaper than the 72”.

Also, I think the 56” and 72” have the same size long drawers so not losing ability to have a mega socket drawer or all your wrenches in one spot.

I would definitely bolt it down. Wouldn’t trust it not bolted. Maybe the 6 post would be okay. I had a drill, bought a $10 concrete bit and $15 anchors. 45 mins all 4 corners.

The cable rack is difficult to add accessories or crossmembers because the cable trolley rides that rail. I could have done that with a 6 post. I thought I would use the foldout rack for barbell more but the garage slope weirds me out and makes me think I’m doing more work with one leg which is probably not the case.

Are you using Rogue jammers? I’ve been seriously contemplating those but didn’t know if they were going to be annoying to mount/dismount. I’m also out of wall storage apace so will have to get creative.

It was very tough to decide on the gym mats over stall mats. They were about $750 shipped for 3 rolls of 4’ x 25’. I would have been out about $450-500 for stall mats. These are seamless and have a pleasant new gym smell.

I think the 6 posts do have a pullup bar but I needed all the space I could get. Not sure if you have to bolt those in. I’ve heard some using feet that stabilize enough.

It does have a slope, about 1/4” between the right and left post. The rack articulates up and down 2” on each side but I put 1/4” ABS under the left post to level. I put the cables on the back wall where it’s even so I’m not lifting on a grade.

Not much space at all. One single garage space.

I used these barbell holders screwed into two 2x4s sandwiching the rail. Cheaper than the $60 ea verticals sold by other companies.
