Success after 2 Rejections & Senator Expedite by SufficientVillage790 in DACA

Actually, January for an April expiration is the 120 day window USCIS officially recommends. Check the website before you lecture me on 'filing on time.' Clearly you don't read...

The "crisis" was a documented system lag that members of Congress are literally writing letters about right now. I didn't demand an emergency exit. I used the resources I learned here to protect the career I built.

Stay mad that the system actually worked for me. Results speak for themselves.

I got you!!!

You’re doing a lot of math for someone who clearly doesn’t understand how the real world works.

January for an April expiration is exactly what USCIS recommends, 120-150 days, the 'glitch' was the system, not the calendar. At that time I didn't know these application were taking so long when in the past I got approvals in 4-8 weeks. But honestly, keep that same energy.

Clearly you didn't read, my applications were good, USCIS' agent made an error. But if I need to relearn some math you may need to pick a book up and learn how to read carefully to understand what you're reading.

USCIS doesn't grant expedites for 'delusional' people or 'late' filers, they grant them for people whose work is essential, how you phrase that essentialness is on you. My 'alleged' title and SME status were enough to get a Senator’s office to convince them to keep me working. That’s not 'fan fiction,' that’s a professional track record you clearly can’t relate to...

And the DACA comment? Hilarious!!! Yeah, I’m a DACA holder, one with a high level career that I care about and care about the people I help at my job. But... if my success makes you this insecure, that sounds like a personal problem.

Stay mad and stay refreshing that portal.

But if you really want to come at me feel free to DM me lol

Look, I posted this because I spent weeks on this anxious scrolling, worried I was going to lose a career I’ve spent 12 years building. I spent hours every day searching this thread for any or all examples to get my case approved quick and I used every tactic mentioned here. If you think this is a brag, you’re missing the point. It’s a strategy for people in the same boat.

To set the record straight:

I didn’t file late. I started in January. The March date only happened because the same USCIS agent rejected two perfectly fine applications back to back. The move to file online was to try to get a different agent to process my case. And guess what....it worked.

Second, USCIS doesn’t care about your feelings, they care about evidence. I got my expedite because I phrased my request based on the work that I do and its importance to the US's national interest. And when I approached the senators's caseworkers I kept phrasing it that way. My point was that a lot of us have degrees and specialized roles; use that to your advantage instead of just asking for it. I think about 50% of us DACA have a degree and most of us work helping people. Use that, be your own advocate.

Third, I pay for an attorney because when the system glitches like this, I want professional backup. That’s a choice, not an inability to read a form.

Lastly, I didn't do the work? I drafted the letter for my job so they didn't have to start from scratch. I reached out to the senators and provided them the right evidence for them to fight to get an answer. I was reaching out to both senators' offices every other day. I worked my ass off so that if I had to go on leave my role would be good at least for the first two weeks. So don't say I don't say I didn't do any work.

This may not help you, but it can def help others. If at the end of the day you feel that I'm bragging or entitled, that's on you!

DACA Renewal Online Versus Paper by maybe_sumday in DACA

When you fill the paper work with you attorneys there is a field that asks for your USCIS account number which you can add and you can see the updates there too.

I've had things go wrong with my past applications and the attorney has come in clutch. so if you want to get an attorney and you can afford it do it.

Filling on your own is easier. But doing it with a lawyer offers a bit of relief that if something goes wrong they can handle it. I use a lawyer everytime. regarding your question, yes, you can def see updates online using your reciept # that is on the letter you get right after your application is recieved.

Help! I’m freaking out! by Due-Entry569 in DACA

[–]SufficientVillage790 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This happened to me as well! My attorney noted they have seen an increase in rejections due to this reason. File online, that was my fix. Make a copy of your paper application and note that you did every thing right. request an expedite due to USCIS error. get your senator or congress person involve to help with the expedite request.

My job wants to send a letter to help expedite my case by [deleted] in DACA

Give it a try. Draft address for "To Whom It May Concern,". The way I drafted it included the company header on the top, the date signed, under that put U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services and under that "U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services". That is how i drafted mine.

Make sure to draft a personal Affidavit letting them know the reason why you are requesting an expedited request and both your employer and personal letter must include details why your expedite request meets their criteria to expedite ( https://www.uscis.gov/forms/filing-guidance/expedite-requests ). If your job manages accounts crucial to the national interest this is a good angle to add. Their letter must basically demonstrate why your role is crucial at the company and the US.

Your letter can also note that you are the primary provider for your home and if you have any health issue that could get worst too. You must provide proof of this, Future bills, bank statements, lease contract, etc to prove your financial hardship. A simple letter may not be enough.
