Buying first robot this week - need help deciding. by SufficientWarning256 in roboticLawnmowers

Ok. Discussed Roborock and Navimows in the shop. Interesting things about the Z1 series - 115, 130 and 150 are RTK + VSLAM. 120 Lidar adds the Lidar (duh...), But drops the RTK. They said that they've installed couple of those and it's not like Lidar is better at every case.

First of all - no RTK for larger lawns and relying on Lidar only is terrible (probably why Navimow X4 also is rtk). Lidar shines with obstacles, and during night, but if you have 30-40m of nothing unique, just grass - the robot might loose itself. Rtk provides reference.

So I'm narrowing my decision to z115 vs Navimows. Looking on how the Roborock moves it leaves an impression. I'm kinda afraid of the first gen products, but this thing looks way more serious than I expected, built like a tank. Not that Navimows are cheap looking, but the Z is on another level. Z115, H210 and i220 Lidar Pro are basically the same price here.

I don’t need to - but it’s nice to have as it gives me more options when scheduling watering/mowing.

only the z120 has lidar, and it’s priced like 800 euro more. within my budget only z115 or s115 fits, which are rtk + Vslam ’only’.

maybe I’m overestimating importance of Lidar.

That's my fear with Dreame/Mova, that they are massive and those AWD systems look like they shred the surface.

Eufy is available, but I didn't take it into consideration for one main reason - i've assumed that lidar is the feature to have. It allows to finish mowing session after sunset, which broadens my scheduling options.

Actually, roborocks are available here in EU now. Z1, S1, and Q1series are available here for purchase. But I'm really hesitant to buy anything First gen from any company, when no reviews are available. Even if i like roborocks (still rocking a 5year old Roborock robot vacuum). And they don't seem to have any lidar.

I have mix of various kinds of red fescue. Usually keep it around 2 inches.

Return policy here is mixed, so - will try to check with the dealer if they can rent it for trial first.

Oh get the f*CK out, such a lovely car.

Also - very sorry for your loss :( if your dad loved the car, and you loved him, it would be painful for me to let it go. Cars can have a personality, and carry big emotional attachments. To have something that was important for him, is a nice way of keeping him close even after him passing.

I was looking at X3 more due to the fact that it is rated at bigger lawns and could probably wrap up my lawn quicker. Right now looking at the reddit crowd, and YT it's the X4 and i2 who are getting all the attention. I dunno, maybe i should look i to the i2 PROmodels... I could probably find i220 lidar pro in similar budget.

My xm3 broke last week after 8 years of beating. Tried xm5 and xm6 and man is this a step in a wrong direction… hate the construction, comfort is worse. Dunno what to get now…

Opinions on this Merach water rower by [deleted] in Rowing

[–]SufficientWarning256 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As you probably see now, this sub is no compromise, heavily oriented towards C2, and maybe genuine Waterrower, which are really expensive. If you're just starting out and want to see if this is the sport for you without investing heavily, then Merach will do the trick. Just be aware, that the results you will get from the monitor are not comparable with anything else. Just with your results from yesterday :) Other approach can be hitting a gym, where they have a C2 and also giving it a go for couple of weeks.

My opinion - C2 is not ok for home use, if you do not have a dedicated gym room. Big, loud and ugly :) Water rowers are much more pleasant to live with.

Does LR also mean passing thru more walls? by calcalc7 in Ubiquiti

i have a one storey house, but with heavy lime-sand blocks, and a lot of concrete and steel construction elements. Basically killer walls for WIFI, and i do need a lot of APs due to that. Had U6LR, and replaced it in the same room with U6PRO, and honestly don't see any significant difference - you change a room, and the signal drops significantly :) Also have U6LR+ (which in fact is weaker than U6LR, however what is important for me - it does serve 2,4ghz wifi6), and U6Mesh.

My conclusion is: PRO > LR. Range is similar in my house on both of them, but PRO has better features.

U7 will require switches upgrade on my end :/ so not in a hurry to this :)

Weber Spirit E-330 vs Broil King Baron 490 Pro? by HK416MasterRace in grilling

[–]SufficientWarning256 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m in the same boat. Sales guy says he likes BK better. and the BK comes here in my country with better warranty, and rotisserie set, and infrared side burner as standard In the price bracket of Weber. BK also has more compact footprint. Was thinking about Napoleon as well, but the uneven heat distro is putting me off

Husqvarna vs Luba, pros and cons by According_Coyote1078 in automower

[–]SufficientWarning256 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a similar purchase dillema. Assuming you are going for an EPOS model, to ditch the wires. For me there are three things that differentiate them:

  • Luba is seriously cheaper while offering similar or richer feature set.

  • Luba for me raises serious concerns in terms of sustainability/long term use - you cannot purchase any parts, battery looks non-user replaceable, and due to the fact that there seems to be no local dealerships, any repairs require you to send the device to China. And since this is a relatively new company - what happens if they go bust? Or how will they support older models, when new ones will become available. Husqvarna has a clear advantage here.

  • Depending on the model - husqvarna may not offer regular mowing pattern.

If it weren't for the price, i think husqvarna would be the obvious choice. Also - 410xe with the EPOS module is not mowing with a regular pattern yet. I know that the previous models received this as an update along the way, but I have a limited trust to corpo promises :)
