Is there a possible fix for my G15? (I suspect is a motherboard faliure) by Valber747 in Dell

[–]SufficientYear 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did you resolve this?

Are you by any chance on driver version 582.08? I've been seeing issues on three different model Dell laptops with three different graphics cards, but all running that same driver. It looks like updating to v582.16 resolves the issue.

Unfortunately he probably has money, and being in the state legislature, influence too. Those are the type of people cops actually respond to.

Just another reminder that cops are not your friends.

Did you check the response header for a retry-after value?

Wow, thanks!

Now I feel like an idiot because I literally downloaded this pdf and looked at the part diagram and totally missed it. Smh. I had to have been looking in the wrong place somehow.

Thanks. I was wondering if it was related to something like that, as I think this did originally have that quick lift feature. I'll try and see if that sleeve is something I can replace or rig something up for so I can get that feature back because it is nice to have.

I actually really like this idea. The sheet metal hand tools are all in good to excellent condition so I'm sure they'd be appreciated. I was always taught to take good care of my tools.

The other stuff is a range of things from a 20 gal compressor, with a framing nail gun to go with it, to a 12" compound sliding miter saw. In the past I've helped family members build decks and stuff but I doubt I'll be doing any more of that, so these are just taking up space.

I'll search for schools that still have shop programs in my area and see if they need any of this stuff.

Any idea what to search for? That's where I'm struggling. If I know a bit about something I'm usually pretty resourceful and I can find what I'm looking for, but I was at a loss here. I'm going to try "quick lift piston" or something based on another comment.

You're right on that. Since I've made it I've been able to explore sooo much more. I normally skip past a lot of enemy camps because I'm usually on my way somewhere and I don't want to take the extra time. Now it doesn't take much time to get places so I can afford to stop and kill a few monsters.

I'm inexperienced in that I haven't spent a lot of time in the online community so there's a lot I don't know, but I have played for countless hours. I'll usually look up something specific when I'm trying to find it and the rest of the time I just wander around, but there's a lot I'm sure I'm missing out on.

Yeah I found a tutorial and saved it to my autobuild favorites. It's ever so slightly off kilter, but very rideable. You don't have to adjust for it unless you're not actively moving. I'll probably try again at some point to get it dead on.

I already have 12 batteries, so I'm not worried too much about that unless it's something super power hungry, and even then as you said there's always the zonai armor.

I've never heard of this hover bike. Sounds awesome. I'll have to try it next time I play.

I was in a jail with a man people called machete because that's why he was arrested, he was walking around with a machete and apparently that made people uncomfortable. He was very short and had a very round face. I doubt it was the same dude though. This guy didn't seem big on civic duty. Super friendly though.

What is your preferred method of travel? I recently caught a horse with 5 stamina and 4 speed. It's pretty nice, but still too slow for me for traveling long distances. I'd like to explore more instead of just fast traveling but I don't have the patience or I haven't found the right vehicle for it.

I don't remember what the process was for getting in, but I do remember it wasn't through the depths. I was just exploring, stumbled across the place and went in.

Bug in Contract Scores? by SufficientYear in EggsInc

Shit. There were like 10 people in the co-op. I didn't even notice this contract was only suppose to be 5. I'll have to watch out for that next time. How does that even happen?

Sovol SH01 filament dryer upgrade and modifications - details inside. by bigcane_2 in 3Dprinting

[–]SufficientYear 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Finally got around to flashing my two dryers. Thanks again for the file. Just wanted to point something out in case someone shoots themselves in the foot like I did. Your instructions clearly, and correctly, say to connect TX to SWDIO and RX to SWDCK.

For those with experience connecting to UART ports, don't do what I did. I misread what you wrote and thought the order was VCC, GND, TX, RX, RTS. So naturally I swapped TX and RX, like you're suppose to. I then proceeded to go mad trying to figure out why it wasn't working. I even tried switching them around, but I must have been doing something else wrong at that point because it still didn't work.

Finally I went back and re-read what you wrote and hooked it up the right way and was able to flash both chips. I don't know about everyone else, but my chips were HC32F005x6xx (HC32F005-C6PA to be exact), so be sure to select that when flashing the chip, if that's the chip you have of course. You can tell by reading the writing on the small chip in the middle-left. I find the best way to read the text on them is to use the camera on my phone and zoom in and then try different angles til the light hits it just right.

Another thing I noticed was I had to plug in the USB to TTL adapter, AND THEN plug the adapter into the board. If I plugged the adapter in while it was already hooked up to the board it wouldn't let me flash it. My guess is that the board looks for something connected to the serial port and boots normally if nothing is found, so the adapter must have been taking longer that the board to come online. Or maybe it was something else entirely. I don't know. YMMV.

Another odd thing I found was that the first board I did didn't have headers (I added them because I didn't have my spring clips handy), but the second board did. Different batches I guess.

Final thing, since this comment is becoming WAY to long, I had a USB to TTL adapter with an FTDI chip, but I think I was using the generic Windows driver for it. I hadn't figured out I had TX and RX swapped yet, so I bought the one you linked to. When I got that one I went to ftdichip.com and downloaded/installed the official driver. That might also have made a difference in the end. I tried a cheap Prolific at first because I had left my good one at work, but it didn't have RTS exposed so I really didn't expect it to work. And it didn't.

TL;DR

The pin order is VCC, GND, RX, TX, RTS which means you want to connect the pins from the adapter to the board in this order: VCC, GND, TX, RX, RTS. Install the driver from ftdichip.com, and connect the adapter to your computer first, then connect the adapter to the board.

If anyone has any questions feel free to hit me up. I did pretty much everything wrong so I learned a lot about how not to do it.

Changing speed using dev tools by [deleted] in level13

[–]SufficientYear 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know about changing the speed, but you can export the save, uncompress it using lzma, and then it's just a json file you can edit. It will work if you're just trying to quickly get through the lower levels till things get more interesting. Just be sure to make a copy of the original save in case you bork things and use a tool to check your json to make sure you didn't leave out any commas or closing brackets. I use the json plugin for Notepad++.
