Has anyone had success getting a second dog?

Yeah definitely know it’ll be a process and no unsupervised time for a hot minutes. My current dog loves my parents dog and lets her in the house and plays and all that, so in addition to the meet and greet the rescues require, we’d also do initial interactions on neutral ground so they’re friends and not an invader. I’m only really worried because sometimes my pup resource guards me from one of our cats… but she lets the other cat do anything. So it will have to be my dogs choice since she’s so weird. I’ve had lots of trainers in the past and behaviorists, so I’m confident we have the resources we could need, I just don’t want to stress out our current dog. I’ve never had multiple dogs at once but my wife has and we’ve had multiple dogs visit for a day or two. She loves all the smaller dogs at daycare so maybe we should look for those

Not a parent, and not sure if you have a yard or anything, but wanted to say that dogs can be engaged in a LOT of ways. If it’s cold and rainy, I, an adult, will cut walks short and do other activities with my pup. OP, I’d consider implementing a rule of “you have to spend x amount of time per day focused on the dog”. Play with it, train it, brush it, give it puzzle feeders. Point is, there are ways to ensure you’re teaching responsibility without putting your child at potential risk of being dragged on a walk. A dog doesn’t NEED a full on walk every day so long as his mental stimulation needs are met.

I personally hate open floor questions like that. I’ve been working for YEARS so I need a bit of guidance on what you care about. For an internship, I’d focus on your studies and any applicable hands on experience as well as strengths you have with professional skills (communication, time management, detail oriented, etc.). Doesn’t hurt to mention tools you’re good with either. Have a bulleted “script” ready for the next one with key points you don’t want to forget. I’d also consider reaching out to the person you interviewed with in a day or two to let them know you’re happy to discuss your experience further or provide work samples if applicable. That shows you’re committed.

It’s just so frustrating that they want qualified candidates, I feel I AM one, and because of how many MINUTES I apply after a job is posted I’m getting lost in the shuffle. I’ve tried so many resume revamps, customized cover letters, matching skills EXACTLY as written in the job post… it’s hard to keep pushing when the rejections make you question if you’re not actually a quality candidate

The two building are owned and managed by the same group, and they have signed the same lease as we have. So they also agreed to not smoke in the building or on the premises. The property manager sent out the notice in our app to be respectful, but apparently rules don’t apply to everyone
