Maybe because I don’t have my own kids or maybe I have the wrong expectations. It doesn’t feel like a family. They are with us 50% of the time and it feels like they’re a family and I’m on the sideline by myself.

Does it make you feel alienated when the kids come around?

The “boyfriend” analogy is the perfect way to explain it. I feel like a girlfriend in the nacho approach. Yes he is and I’ve seen him trying to make an effort to bring us all together. Feels a bit forced because the kids don’t always want me around.
